  1. Crawford does NOT work hard without the ball nor does he work hard to free his teamates up in the half court. He comes off screens like he has NO faith the play will work, and the defense takes advantage. The result is a winding play clock and Joe or Ramel going one on one. Its not just Joe (but he is the worst IMO) who simply goes through the motions in the half court sets.
  2. Question for you Husker guys. Have you completely adjusted to Nebraska's change in offensive philosophy? I still route for them, but when they were running the triple option, I was a huge fan.
  3. Leaving out three schools makes your numbers lack credibility OneI.
  4. Wake is a nice OOC pickup IMO. Ball State is a cupcake, but at least it isn't a D1AA school.. Nice schedule IMO, and seeing they do not play a couple of the big dawgs in conference, I think they will fare well. Does Taylor return?
  5. Cole will need to gain 20 lbs over the summer IMO. 165 simply doesn't get a kid a D1 scholly.
  6. Am I wrong in assuming some states do not require High School football coaches to be teachers?
  7. I am very excited about next years Pike Co Bowl with Belfry and Corbin. I think Cashen might be a little too much for Belfry's secondary considering they replace 3 starters. Belfry needs desperately for someone to step up and grow into the speed demon that that wishbone offense needs. I think most would agree that, although a longshot, the Lovern kid might be the spark so desparately needed next year. Quite a bit to ask of a Sophmore but we shall see. Elkins could take a little pressure off the backfield too if he works hard and becomes a SIGNIFICANTLY better player. Assuming Belfry has only good but not great backfield play, he could be the difference if he is able to actually damage teams on the ground. A moderate improvement in his passing ability along with a moderate improvement in his composure is necessary IMO. I love the Redhounds v Pirates in week one!
  8. Being a "tad" short, can he play DB at the D1 level?
  9. Bowens returns with TE experience. Preston could potentially play TE also. He would be undersized, but offer good athleticism at that postion. From the looks of things, Belfry will need to go airborne a bit more next year, so a recieving TE might be a must.
  10. Seriously. I don't care how young or weak Stevenson is, I would only take him out in favor of Thomas if he was completely out of breath or out of eligibility. When Thomas is on the court, the opposing team is playing 5 against our 4
  11. Trinity Cov Cath Bowling Green Mercer Co Ryle Russell Danville NCC
  12. Prince's torrent start versus UNC. He hit the last three from the K! I was in the rafters in row double E or something, but even there everyone was going nuts.
  13. Woodson played well yesterday. He made a mistake, it was a big one. He saw the play clock but thought he could get it off in time. His fullback couldn't get set in time. The "Golden Boy" would never have taken a delay of game.
  14. This might sound odd to some, but I am more satisfied after watching this loss than I was after last weeks win. UK played inspired.
  15. Belfry could use more seating, but ONLY when Russell, and big time programs come in. Usually, the visitors don't come in force. Russell made all of the big plays. They played good fundamental football. But according to the webcast I tuned into, Clark only had 13 yds on 7 carries. I think the Belfry D played well. The Belfry offense just couldn't move the large and solid Russell front.
  16. Bring it back to the East Devils. Let the 20 + Seniors go out on top! Mercer is the "Juggernaut" that every team hopes to beat.. I think Russell is strong enough on the line to make a nice game of it come Dec 1.
  17. Congrats to the Devils Jeep and all Devils fans. Belfry did well. Final 4 and another Regional Title. A good season for Belfry. I don't think many Belfry fans could be upset with the effort his team has put forth this year. Belfry saw Corey Chapman literally do everything he could. It was an inspired year IMO. Not the most talented Belfry team, but a team I think all Belfry fans are proud of. Russell was lead by 20+ Seniors who were state champions. I think Mercer will win next Friday, but IMO the Devils have the best shot to pull it off. Their line is big and strong enough to compete.
  18. Go job Mercer. I honestly think the Senior laden Russell team will give Mercer a nice game. That said, Mercer this win (if not the others) really shows the talent the Titans bring to the table. Enjoy it guys.
  19. Great game... I think Cov Cath will win the poll battle next week. Likely because of the road they have crossed to get to the title game, and somewhat because the Western schools simply don't have as big a fan base on this website. I think this will be a nice title game between two polar opposites.
  20. I started a new thread because I didn't want to turn the Russell victory thread into a discussion about next season. I see another GOOD Belfry team who suffers again from gamebreaking play in the backfield. I think we will see Lee at FB and May and Hickman at TB. A nice backfield, but not a lot of speed there. Oh well.. Just thought I would open this up so we wouldn't flood the other thread.
  21. I think 2 & 2. 3a is a wash IMO. Could easily go 3-1 public, but most likley Cov Cath and T get it done. Good year of football IMO.
  22. Belfry was just outmanned. Russell had a solid, mature, and Senior laden quad which was physically just a bit better. Russell shut down the FB, and thats what it takes to beat Belfry. My dad called and we are already talking about next year. I think Belfry will be just as good overall but will suffer from the same deficiency: lack of gamebreaking speed. In the past, if our line was getting beat, we could run the outside veer and break one. This season we didn't have that capability. Just the way it goes IMO. Good job Devils.
  23. I would play any other eligable body over Thomas. He has ZERO chance of making a play. I actually feel sorry for him. Its pathetic.
