Question for teams who have played Middlesboro. Would you consider them a finese team? From the outside looking in, I would. Can Middlesboro be physical enough to beat Belfry? I think that will be the question. The other important factor is of course turnovers (always the case).

haha.. Mud is a fair criticism. I hadn't thought of it from that angle. But as far as officiating goes, seriously Belfry gets the majority of flags. We like to false start sometimes.

I think its funny that people are knocking Cashen for being short. Burke is listed at 6'2", but I bet he is closer to 6'0"

For the above poster who seems to think Belfry gets "homecooking", the only penalties I have seen at Belfry this season have been on us. Mostly procedure flags, and the occasional delay of game. Drive killers as I like to call them.

IMO, it was in bad taste. That said, "children" having their feelings hurt is a part of life. These are young men who know by now how the world works. The important thing is to win the game as a team. It has to be tuff on Huffman, it being his senior year, but he is a very good athlete and still needs to play well to help his team win. Football is a TEAM sport.

Is #2 Owensboro's Catholic's grind it out back? Last year, I think Ocath had like ZERO yards rushing in the final. Unless they have improved markedly, I don't see them running on a solid defense. Now passing, they can certainly do that!

Ford might be fast, but he will see nothing but the back of Matt Maynard's jersey come next Friday. Middlesboro always has a bunch of nice players, but they can't compete up front. Belfry's big boys will pound, pound, and pound some more. Middlesboro will probably get a fair share of yardage on offense, but Belfry's D will make enough plays to keep them at bay. As for Middlesboro's "11 men in the box D", ask Prestonsburg how that strategy worked against the Pirates. Granted, Mboro might be better, so the score will reflect that. #52 for Belfry is pretty tuff. Undersized but quick. Fireplug is the adjective that comes to mind.

Matt Maynard is good from Belfry, but #20 Dustin May will be one of the tops next season. He is playing fullback this his soph season, but will likely step back to tailback to finish his career. He has very good size and strength. If he can develop the big play speed that Maynard has, then he will be the best in the Mountains IMO. Im not sure if a kid can develop that kind of speed tho, maybe its born.

I guess my addition to this thread wasn't very significant. Is Anderson from Male just not in the same league as these guys?

What about Brian Anderson from Male? He is committed to Marshall I beleive.
