Much of the same kind of stuff… You have to be 14pts better than Green, to get a 1pt win at Green...

When you play at Green Co. you should expect things like this to happen...

It's really pretty simple. Franklin Simpson has the athletes, the game plan and the coaching to get it done. The losses they have are losses that 90% of the teams in KY would have loss, and what FS does well is things Monroe has always struggled with and it showed last night. As for my thoughts on the game, Best half of offense the Falcons have played all season. Great to see some guys step up, Kendall, Tooley and Payne really stepped up and did every thing they could to help their team win. DE played horrible IMO, a lot talk but not a lot action. DE's got hooked all night... Falcons for the first time this season woke up and quit sleep walking through the schedule, when FS started talking and showing their swagger the Falcons responded by hitting them on the chin and bringing the fight to them and when they did that they looked better than they had all season and every bit as good as last year. That passion, fire and intensity has to be a way of life from here on out. If it is the Falcons will be fine... IMO the Falcons may have to stay in a five man front the rest of the season, four DL just isn’t getting it done and the DE’s consistently get hooked and let plays get outside, bump the DE’s out and we get killed off tackle, either the DE’s are going to have to step it up or a five man front is the way to go…

Make no mistake about it, Monroe definitely took it on the chin. Monroe didn't get their first defensive stop until 8 min to go in the game...

I have felt all week that Franklin Simpson was going to give the Falcons fits and at times have felt alone in that. Personally my thoughts are the Falcons grew more last night than they had in the previous 6 games, and it took FS getting cocky and showing a little too much swagger for the Falcons to come alive, at times this season the falcons have been sleep walking and just going through the motions, for the first time this season I seen a team hit hard, block hard and run harder than they had all season. If they play the way they did toward the end of last night’s game they will erase any doubts there for real in two weeks when they play Glasgow.

Make no mistake about it Franklin-Simpson is a very good team, despite their losing record. The 3 loses the wildcats have came against 5A #9 Warren Central, 5A #2 Bowling Green and 6A Greenwood who is 5-1, with their only loss coming at the hands of ACS. IMO this will be the biggest test for the Falcons yet, and probably the second best team we will face in the regular season. I for one am excited to see what the Falcons will bring to the table in terms of intensity and sharpness, something I think we've lacked at times this year. On a different note, I seen a play from Boise State that would be perfect for us, it was a single back (Chad Wilson) set, the hand off goes to the back on what appears to be an inside handoff, the back comes toward the line of scrimmage and throws a jump pass to the TE (Vickery) for a wide open TD. My observations, Best offensive performance of the season, hands down. Great use of Tanner Kendall, he had a great night running the ball from a position I think he's best suited for, he still had some struggles between the tackles but did great on the edge. Defense finally showed its weakness’s and I couldn't be happier about it, we scored very quickly on offense so that kept our defense on the field and allowed us to get some quality work in and no doubt we got better for it. No pressure from our DL, this has to change soon. I see guys getting better like Hammer and Bell but they have to keep progressing and start getting pressure on the QB, any pressure we got was from the LB's and that’s not something I’m comfortable with. I think at some point we may need to bring in a NG for some help getting pressure. Logan Co's QB is a great athlete, probably the best QB we will face all year. K Scott Harrison will win us a ball game this year, we are very blessed to have him. Monroe fans need to be thankful we have to coaching staff we have, Coach Petett has assembled a very solid staff, the adjustments made by the defensive coach's was spot on. Great game by Tooley, if he can make plays down the stretch like he did Friday night we will be even more dangerous.

Coach Griffiths must have attended an ethics camp this summer because he actually put the JV in, which ended the scoring for Green and allowed Campbellsville to scroe...

Green has some weapons no doubt, but they really lack the OL they’ve had in the past, I wasn't impressed at all with that part of their team. They are a dangerous team and McDermott (sp?) is a better passer than I expected even though he has an awkward release. All in all I would say Green is a solid team, but not near as talented as last year’s team.

Sorry if I took it wrong, but the way I read it you seemed to be giving reasons why Green's schedule was going to be an advantage and ours was going to hurt us. Which I disagree with, and the past would tend to support my argument. I guess hearing a Green Co. fan give advice on how to win the region is kind of like asking a blind man about the view at the Grand Cannon, both would seem uninformed and lacking insight on the subject…:idunno:

I don't mind our schedule. Wayne and Barren are pretty good teams and Edmonson is a very good team and a sleeper, as for Green and there tough schedule, I ask this, how has that helped in the past? Is getting to the regional championship enough in Green Co.? Is losing in that game to teams you beat earlier in the season acceptable (see Metcalfe 2007 and Monroe 2009). I guess my point is Monroe's schedule is what it is, and for the last 2 years it’s been enough. I know Green fans really played up their schedule last year and that "tough schedule" got Green beat by 4 tds at home to a team they had previously beaten by 7, where was the benefit of the tough schedule in that game.

I believe the Falcons will win this game relatively easy, my hope is that they look good doing it and for once play up to their potential, not down to their opponent. I've really been impressed with our defense so far this season and hope to see it continue to improve. Roe 49 Logan Co. 12

My observations, -Very sloppy game by the Falcons (both teams really), far too many turnovers and missed opportunities. -Barren’s size did not prove to be a factor, our line did a great job on offense and defense, and this was one thing I was very pleased with. -One positive thing that has come from our offensive struggles has been the growth of our defense, if you would have told me that after 4 games our defense would have only given up 20 pts I would not have believed it. -Still not getting enough production at TB, Kendall rushed 12 times for 32yards that’s 2.6 yards per carry, the rest of the team rushed 26 times for 206 yards, that’s 7.9 per carry. That’s a growing problem that IMO needs to be addressed. Kendall is great athlete but he’s not hitting the hole like the gazelle he once was. -At this point we should be 4-0 and we are, we haven’t been as impressive as I think we should have been, but it’s nice to able to complain and still be 4-0. Now it’s time to get this thing rolling before district play and start playing to our potential…

Show me where anyone from Thompkinsville has ever said he’s the fastest kid on the field or that he’s super fast… Bottom line is he’s a good back when he hits the edge and good in the open field, we have plenty of backs that can get the hard yards so we don’t depend or rely on Kendall to produce those yards. Speaking on Barren Co., can you imagine how good they would have been had Griffiths got the job? They would have almost been guaranteed a runner up trophy…:lol:
