5a Barren County Trojans (1-2) host the 2a Monroe County falcons (3-0). Who wins and why?

Even though Barren County Trojans have a little better team this year I still feel the Falcons will roll over them pretty easy. Barren always gives us a good game but they just do not have the athletes that Monroe has this year....

Coach Petett’s record against Barren is 3-3, and as you can see the game is usually very close. IMO Barren Co. circles this game where as Monroe may have been guilty in the past of approaching the game with less passion and desire than Barren, to do that this year would be a mistake. Barren in the past has had festivities such as redneck day, where the students dress and act like there from Monroe, not to mention the debacle two years ago where the Barren Administration accused our players of not understanding how to use indoor plumbing... as if the 30 miles that separate the two counties somehow makes them better or more civilized. The Monroe players have also seen fellow students and athletes leave Monroe for the “greener pastures” of Barren Co., simply put too many from Barren Co. and even a few from Monroe Co. think that Barren Co. and the people there are better than those in Monroe. There’s not much we can do to change that perception, we can however, abuse and smack their kids around for 48 minutes Friday night and I for one will certainly enjoy seeing it…

Had a chance to look at the game film from Glasgow and Barren....oh my is Barren huge!!! It looked to me that Glasgow really should have lost if it wasn't for some big plays. This should be a really good game for the Falcons Defense....This made me a little more concerned that they have a huge line that keeps pushing, but I don't feel that they can match our backfield. If they can't catch Kendall they can't tackle him!

Glasgow was never threatened by Barren in terms of losing the game. Barren has no team speed. My only concern in this game is the 14-7 score of the Monroe/Edmonson game. Still, the Monroe defense will be way too much for Barren.

35-6 Monroe.

I am going out on a limb and say this game is somewhat closer than most would think. Don't get me wrong, Monroe County will win this ballgame but I am going to say the final score will be 28-20. Falcons stay undefeated and will continue a few more weeks on their subpar schedule. Franklin-Simpson, Green County, Glasgow, and Allen County-Scottsville await the second half of the season.

Think Monroe will win this game. Difference in score will be decided if Barren fired up like they were for Glasgow then game will be close if Barren not as ready to play then game will not be close.

Ive been to all the monroe games except last week and all of glasgows games. If Barren comes out with the intensity that they had against glasgow this will be a very good game it is also at Barren which is a plus for them. Monroe to me seems like they are not as talented on offense as they was last year? Dont get me wrong there still very explosive but, Kendall seems scared to run up the middle I dont think ive seen him gain any yards on Edmonson or Wayne CO up the middle? I think you contain him from the outside focus on wilson and dont let Arnett run with the ball the Falcons would be in trouble but of Course you have to do these three things which i think can be done? Im going with a upset Barren 32 monroe 28 I know a few people will probably laugh but Barren Suprised the crap out of me when they played us The falcons better be prepared I dont think Glasgow was.

If barren limits turnovers, the game will by very tight should be a great high school game..

"Kendall seems scared to run up the middle I dont think ive seen him gain any yards on Edmonson or Wayne CO up the middle?"

I have seen several Monroe County games and not sure I've ever seen him want to run up the middle. He is a "on the corner" type of guy. He has some speed but definantly not as fast as those in Thompkinsville think all the time. The kid runs track as well, so I've seen what he has against guys in his own district. The Whitlow kid from Glasgow, the Burton kid from Green Co., and the Cape kid from Cumberland all left him in the dust. Don't get me wrong, Kendall is a fine young man and a good football player. At times though, he's a non factor.

Show me where anyone from Thompkinsville has ever said he’s the fastest kid on the field or that he’s super fast… Bottom line is he’s a good back when he hits the edge and good in the open field, we have plenty of backs that can get the hard yards so we don’t depend or rely on Kendall to produce those yards.

Speaking on Barren Co., can you imagine how good they would have been had Griffiths got the job? They would have almost been guaranteed a runner up trophy…
