Road work this weekend on the way to WKU
Heck no, I'm traveling with the fun crowd. Heading down tomorrow afternoon. Much more fun going in a bus with all your buddies than in a truck with Leather. I will be staying to watch the NC, Cooper and Trinity games however. Go Northern Kentucky! Lets bring home 3 out of 6.

Road work this weekend on the way to WKU
Leatherneck is already in Bowling Green. He actually missed the 71 turn off and ended up going to Lexington and then the Bluegrass Pkwy. Still made it to Bowling Green in a little over 3 hours. I saw another thread on the highway construction, and it looked as if the closing will effect coming home. Hey, as long as everyone gets to the game on time, nothing else matters.

Hopefully for Kentucky football it is not like the Obama Government. If you want it, you are going to have to work for it. It is not going to be handed to you. State Championships will not be handed out. You have to work for it and earn it. Every football player in this state knows how to do that and what it takes. If it doesn't happen now it will come.:thumb:

Highlands/Collins 4A State Championship (Predictions)
The goal of Kentucky football should be about encouraging football players across the state to strive for a chance to play in a state championship game, not about the best game for the causal fan to watch. There are a ton of great athletes in the state of Kentucky that never get a chance to show their talents on a big scale "State Games". If broading the number of teams that can compete to play on that state stage of a championship means broadening the classes then so be it. Give more teams a chance. It is all about showcasing Kentucky's athletes whatever class they are in. It is not about a particular team.

Highlands/Collins 4A State Championship (Predictions)
As much as some may think that the" 6 divisions of football " are a joke, there are also teams in the State Championship games that have never been there. And teams that are new and up coming teams. So for all those that don't like 6 divisions. There are more teams playing for a championship and more teams getting into playoffs, therefore generating more excitement at schools that may have never been in a playoff or experienced a State Championship game in football. All this does is encourage more kids to come out for football and feel like they could possibly win an championship. Each year the state football championships have a team or two that have not been there in awhile or not at all. That is a good thing in promoting football across the state of Kentucky.

Highlands Lex Cath Referees
Have asked the ref. question a couple times today and the best answer I can get for the questionable whackiness of the the refs during the semis is: that the KHSAA wants a crew for the state games that was a culmination of the best refs from the state but not a crew that was familiar with each others calls. In other words a more diverse, introspective group. Therefore, for the semis they will mix up ref teams so they can get a game under their belt and working together before they ref the state games. Yes Highlands fans, we may see this same group at the state game. Hoping and pretty sure they will not be refing the Highlands/Collins game if Dale has anything to do with it , but yes they will be there.

Highlands 61 Lexington Catholic 28
Very interesting game. Must say, I was captivated to say the least. Alot going on in this game. Don't like to talk about refs , but WOW that was interesting. Even the Lex. Cath. fans, if they were being honest, would have to admit that there were some very, very questionable calls. But I guess it makes the win all that much better. Highlands beat Lex. Cath. and their 12th man.

McCoy: Legacy?
McCoy is a great athlete and has lead this '12 team on the road to another state championship , however, McCoy and any other QB will tell you, the O-line is where it all starts. Kudos to an awesome Highlands O-line and hoping they bring home #22.

Ryle cancels series against Highlands!!!
Dale didn't drop the game. Yes, he told me so on Monday. Anyone that watches and knows anything about football knows why Ryle dropped Highlands and it has nothing to do with the Tom Potter Classic.

Wow, lost some respect for Ryle today. I thought is was great the way Ryle stepped up and played HHS twice a year. Actually won in '10:madman:. Never expected Ryle to step down.
