  1. It surprises me that Trinity with the size of the school and the success of the school , that the fans do not travel better. Heck , it's only about 2 hrs. at the most for them to drive to Western.
  2. Just a side note: of the twelve teams in the state championships this weekend , only 2 are private. They both have won their games . So that means that less then half the State championship games were won by private schools. Just alittle food for thought to those that think privite / public should be seperate.
  3. Congrats Trinity on an fantastic season!
  4. Big Congrats to Pat!:dancingpa Now back to business and bring home #21 GO BIRDS STATE '11:dancingpa
  5. Sounds like a great day for you.:thumb: Tell your student hello for us.
  6. Visitors side has bench, home side has prime seats that are individual and the rest are bench.
  7. Very scary time this past summer. Your right, great kid and a great family. I remember seeing Ron with tears in his eyes just after David made a beautiful catch for a touchdown this year. Those tears meant alot more than just your boy scoring a touchdown. Good luck to David this Saturday and GO BIRDS.
  8. I actually thought I was being positive when Clyde pointed out the downside to football was its impact on Baseball and basketball, I pointed out that it helps baseball , basketball and other sports positively financially.:idunno:
  9. I don't think Mason Co. Football is contributing awhole lot to other sports. Basketball yes , football no. Other schools have other sports that contribute more to the athletic kitty than football. All I'm saying is at Highlands, football is the cash flow. As for the buses, I don't think renting a 52 passenger bus to take 25 players and coaches to Bball games makes sense. Do you? Next time you get the school facts check out the athletic budget section.
  10. Football gate receipts are used on all sports not just football. Even more money when the team goes to playoffs and then state. What other sport comes close to generating that kind of money? Actually, basketball does fair with it's gate receipts. I'm sure if basketball could get to the Sweet Sixteen that would be a pretty nice cash flow. For now however, football gate receipts are certainly helping provide for all other sports.
  11. Financially it has a very positive effect on baseball, basketball and just about everyother sport at Highlands.
  12. Nick West was a nice QB. Played for Conner and a great kid. Not sure he would be in the top 5. He was a senior in '09. In my opinion, Bardo was the QB of '09. Sorry that NKY didn't get to see what Bardo could do due to the injury during the Highlands/St. X. game. Honestly feel that Bardo would be top of this discussion if not for an unfortunate play.
  13. Just feel that it may answer the question for next year. Could be that Bowling Green and Highlands will be state champs this year but if they play each other next year it may solve the question. Just like to see what the # 30 team in the nation can do with the # 82 team in the nation.
  14. So , will Bowling Green schedule Highlands next year? There may be an open week in Highlands schedule if Dixie drops out?
  15. In '08 the State finals were held the 2nd Saturday in December.
