Dang... that is a crazy scene.

Boyle is good, but they aren't Elder or Trinity good. If Trimble plays, X wins by two scores, if Trimble doesn't play it will be a game that comes down to the 4th quarter, but the X defense will be able to slow down Boyle's offense enough for the offense to score with good field position.

Probably had more to do with who was playing QB. They got a false start on a 3rd down and probably didn’t want there back up to make a poor decision deep in their own territory on 3rd and about 12. knew it was going to be tough to move the ball consistently on the T defense but X was able to put some drives together on short fields but when Trimble hurt his ankle it was going to be hard for them to produce at the level needed to score enough points and move the football consistently. Thought the X defense played well, but they were on the field a lot and struggled to consistently stop the bubble. Both teams will get better and more than likely will see each other again.

JV and Freshman games have been very competitive, fun games, which is a good sign for the future of this continued rivalry. Tonight should be another good one, but let's go with a different result than the first two games this week.

Probably similar numbers last too. We'll see what happens.

Line of scrimmage... like many big games the team that wins the line of scrimmage will have the best chance of winning the game. On paper the advantage goes to Trinity, but games are not played on paper. I see a close game similar to last year, but not sure yet on who will leave L&N Stadium with the shillelagh.

I see a game similar to last year. The biggest/most important position battle will be between the Trinity DL and the X OL. Can the X OL hold up for four quarters?

Fumble on the X punt return was at least a 10 point swing. I thought both teams wear pretty evenly matched, but X lost the turnover battle and that is typically the difference in close games. Good game and hopefully the Tigers built off what they learned from the game.

What he’s doing so far epitomizes what a Mr. Football should be; he’s literally effecting the game in all three phases.

Kind of had the same feel as the BG. X seemed in complete control but the score didn’t necessarily represent that. Great second half for the Tigers!

Is a 7 man crew the norm during the regular season in OH?

If I’m a Male fan, those are very concerning numbers heading into this week.

He will be stat sheet stuffer for the Tigers, but I don't know if that will help or hurt his chances at being Mr. Football.

When Sowells played DL last year the X OL could not do anything to slow him down. Glad he has moved on; with him not there it helps the Tigers to be able to control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Think the Tigers take care of business and move to 3-0.

Close game but I’ll go with Moeller 24-17.

The 3rd quarter was stressful. The BG offense had two short fields on their two scoring drives which were caused by special teams problems by X. Defense looked very good. Offense looked ok, Trimble seemed off in the passing game, but the running game seemed to be on track last night.

Courier Journal predictions were a bit interesting based off last week's performance of both teams. But traditionally this game is a close, contested game for four quarters.

I think the Bowling Green game last year foreshadowed how the season would end; Bowling Green dominated the Tigers. This will be an interesting game, after the first weekend it would appear St. X might be a pretty big favorite, but it wouldn't shock me to see this game played closer than some might expect after week 1.

First game of the season so there will be some pieces for both teams starting and playing now that may not at the end of the season because teams think they know what they have but don't really unknow until the real games start. St. X has pieces returning but what about the support players around them? I think St. X wins but don't see them blowing out the Red Devils. X - 28 O - 10

If their home opener was pushed back to when they play St. X in October, I wouldn't be shocked at all.

It feels like in years past there is a lot of preseason hype surrounding the Broncos, this year I have not heard much of anything about them. They usually tend to have a few "dudes" and this scrimmage is typically pretty competitive. It should be a good tune up for the regular season for both teams.

Drove past the stadium the other day…a lot of work that still needs to be done.
