  • $5 for a scrimmage is what I paid Friday and feel that is a fair price. I think o $10 is too much for a scrimmage.

I am glad that this scrimmage is more like a regular game by the starters playing 3 straight quarters. That should be a good measuring stick for the Broncos in that they open the first 3 weeks of the regular season at Highlands, at Trinity, and a home game with Manual.

Last year St. X won the scrimmage 21-15. I also remember being at Frederick Douglass and FD winning by 1 after St. X went for two after scoring with seconds left in 3Q to try and get the win but the 2 pt attempt failed. Based on returning production of both teams I give St. X a slight edge in this one. Karsten Busch at TE and Marlon Harbin at WR is just a hard combo to defend on offense. The St. X defense was stellar in the Ballard scrimmage where I saw a stat that the starting St. X defense held Ballard to 25 yards. Frederick Douglass is a step up so will see how they do against FD. I'm looking forward to seeing a game like scrimmage.

$10 admission for a scrimmage? Do other schools charge for scrimmages? I do not think I have ever paid to watch a scrimmage.

Purple;

Paid $5 for our scrimmage at Smyrna. Seems to the standard here also.

We are still finding ourselves offensively. If this is a close contest, scorewise, that will be huge for the Broncos.

It feels like in years past there is a lot of preseason hype surrounding the Broncos, this year I have not heard much of anything about them. They usually tend to have a few "dudes" and this scrimmage is typically pretty competitive. It should be a good tune up for the regular season for both teams.

Graduated basically the entire starting offense & our two year starting QB moved to BG for his senior year.  Will be a rough first 5 games.

The buzz in Lexington is, this is the season "The Streak" dies. I wouldn't go that far, but it will be tough sledding outside of our district.

I'll give St. X the edge here. They should be really good this year. Still not sure the O-line will be great.

Heard Ballard was atrocious last week. So this will be a better measuring stick.

As far as FD, they'll be fine by the end of the year.

According to the school the scrimmage tonight should be on the NFHS Network site.

Thunderstorms til 530pm. Two years ago the scrimmage we had storms, and the Tigers made a u-turn and went back to the Ville.
