  1. That’s the same top 6 order that I have. Good list! What a deep class!
  2. 5A is loaded. South Warren and Douglass probably the favorites but Bowling Green, Southwestern, maybe even Owensboro and others are in the mix. South Warren vs Bowling Green should be epic!
  3. Exactly! Very versatile LCA team. Good units at DB, QB, RB, WR, special teams, etc. Brown is so versatile!
  4. First Round Winners 1 Elizabethtown 1 GRC 1 Ballard 1 Bowling Green 1 Boyle Co. 1 Ashland 1 McCracken County 1 Highlands Second Round Winners 2 Elizabethtown 2 Bowling Green 2 Boyle County 2 Highlands Finalists 3 Elizabethtown 3 Highlands State Champion 5 Elizabethtown Tiebreak (points in the final game) - 132
  5. Cov Cath lost their top 2 players and like 6 of their top 8 guys. They did pick up some transfers though. I think 8-12 range is about right.
  6. I think GRC picked up a good transfer from Danville. Cardinals will be very good. Indians can challenge them, though.
  7. Rankings look good! Here are mine. Feedback is appreciated. Etown Ballard Oldham Co Male Ashland Fern Creek Lex Cath Highlands Cov Cath Bowling Green St. Henry McCracken County Knox Central GRC Murray Eastern N Oldham Trinity Conner Marshall Co Frederick Douglass Seneca N Laurel Madison Central Montgomery County
  8. Great preview! My 10th region preseason 🏀 rankings are similar. 1. GRC 2. Montgomery 3. Robertson 4. Campbell 5. Brossart 6. Mason 7. Bourbon 8. Scott 9. Bracken 10. Paris 11. Pendleton 12. Harrison 13. Augusta 14. St. Pat 15. Calvary 16. Nicholas
  9. Etown has a great offense and Ashland has a great defense. Etown has played pretty good D and been opportunistic on defense. Ashland’s offense has not been too great as of late, vs Russell and Belfry in the playoffs. Does that mean advantage Etown or is Ashland’s defense good enough to carry them to victory?
  10. I thought LCA would go for 2. If they had made the kick to force 2OT LCA would have had to get the ball first in 2OT. I see both teams likely scoring and then Beechwood going for 2 and the win like they did vs West Carter last week. That would be advantage Beechwood with Hergott having the ball in his hands and 1 play to win it. In LCA’s defense they do have a great kicker snd had out scored Beechwood by 14 down the stretch so maybe wanted the game to simply continue into a 2nd OT.
  11. Franklin Co played great but looked kind of scattered in OT. That first play had 2 guys in motion, a snap before QB was ready and a costly decision to pitch instead of take a no gain on the play. Almost an INT on the 2nd play. An apparant inxomplete pass on the 3rd play (incorrectly ruled a catch) . Did the final play seem like a pick play? I’m not sure. I guess the refs usually don’t call that in high school, it almost worked but for a few inches
  12. I am shocked as well. How does a team like Crittenden play so well against Murray and Henderson but lose by 4 TDs to KCD? KCD did not look good yesterday at all in the finals vs Paintsville (the same Paintsville team that lost to Raceland once and almost twice)? Would Crittenden have had a shot vs Paintsville?
  13. So excited for this one! LCA being more battle tested and playing home. I’ll pick the Eagles in a close high scoring game.
  14. Both teams play great D, but Trinity shouldn’t have much trouble in this one. They are on their own level.
  15. Two high scoring teams! E-town has a great senior class of guys that excel in basketball and football! I see that RB Montgomery is at Bethlehem this year and not Bardstown. He was the difference in Bardstown's playoff win last year.
  16. This is going to be one of the top games in the state along with Somerset/LCA. I'll pick Ashland in a close one.
  17. He has been out with an injury. Being cautious. I hear he could be back as early as their next game.
  18. Yes. If they win they will jump to #1. Regardless LCA plays Somerset next week so we will find out then.
  19. OCath surprised me last week with a big win over McLean.
  20. I reviewed the quarterfinals in previous article. Bishop Brossart 58 Robertson County 54 George Rogers Clark 81 Augusta 41 Montgomery County 52 Mason County 51 Campbell County 48 Pendleton County 38 Semifinals George Rogers Clark 58 Bishop Brossart 45 Clark County got big games from each of their big 4. Lincoln Bush had 10 points and 16 rebounds. KJ Rucker had 14 points on 4 of 5 shooting from deep. Jared Wellman had 18 points and 7 boards and Jerone Morton had 10 points and 12 assists. Bishop Brossart couldn't get much going on offense. They missed several 3-pointers and layups. The Cardinals were able to alter several of their shots. Montgomery County 76 Campbell County 59 The Indians dominated the Camels inside. Rickey Lovette had 20 rebounds and whole Camels team had 22. Lovette finished with 28 points on 12 of 13 shooting. Brandon Dyer provided outside shooting and finished with 16 points. Hagan Harrison had 18 and Zach Benton added 12 points and 9 rebounds. Jordan Gross had another good game for the Camels. Campbell County heated up from deep in the second half, but it was too little too late. Finals George Rogers Clark 53 Montgomery County 50 The Cardinals used defense to turn a 9-point 1st half deficit into a 3 point win. They kept the Indians' offense off balance all night. The game was also won at the free throw line, with the Cardinals shooting much better from the stripe than Montgomery County did. Jerone Morton's play was the difference in the game. Lincoln Bush had 9 points and 19 boards and KJ Rucker made several key free throws. Rickey Lovette and Brandon Dyer played well for the Indians. Both will return next year along with sophomore Hagan Harrison. The Indians and Cardinals could very well meet again in next year's 10th region finals. George Rogers Clark will play McCracken County at 8:00 p.m. on March 18 in the first round of the Sweet 16. McCracken County is a top 10 team in the state.
