Don’t take anything for granted. Everyone in the semi-finals is there for a reason. I think Boyle came out a little flat against Scott and expected them to roll over because they had Boyle on their chest and found themselves down 7 - 0 early. I know it’s cliche, but you really have to play one game at a time and give 100% focus to the team directly in front of you.

As much as I would like to see Madison Central earn a state title game trip, I just don’t think they have the horses to beat the Tigers.

Scott wasn’t bad. No. 11 at quarterback was tough. Kind of in the Lamar Jackson mold. Was quick and had a good arm. Scott QB’s were running for their life most of the night. Jagger Gillis did not have a good game, throwing into coverage (3 int’s in the first half). I thought Scott’s secondary was good, very athletic. They just couldn’t stop the run.

I feel that Garrard made a mistake when they pulled out of the middle school conference with Boyle, Danville, Lincoln, Mercer, etc., and went to a conference with Berea, Madison Southern, etc. also stopped letting youth teams play the Boyle teams. Let them compete against good programs to get better.

The only time that Boyle County and Scott have previously met on the gridiron was in the 2019 regional finals at Boyle. Boyle won that game 55 - 0.

I would pick Ballard to beat Woodford.

I know this will probably be an unpopular post; however, I am just not on the Woodford bandwagon. They are not battle tested for this deep in the playoffs, while Cov Cath is completely tested. I know Woodford has some athletes but experience rates very high this deep. Saw Woodford’s game with Franklin and thought Franklin lost the game more than Woodford won it. I’ll take Cov Cath by 10.

I just have to say that Rebel is banished from the game Friday night. He will have to drive to Gatlinburg and stream the game. Sorry, just a bit superstitious.
