South Warren named Deron Breeze as their head coach.

Nate is a great hire for LCA. It is a tough job though because they basically are playing for the all A every year. I don't know if they ever even made the regional tournament. But I think it will serve him well to get the experience and someday return to coach the Pioneers.

They also had Bryan Milburn (transferred to Russell County) go to Vandy and win an SEC title In the 90's

Anderson County newspaper is reporting that long time coach Tony Kay's is stepping down after 15 years.

Some that are very close to the situation feel that the assistants were instrumental in the change.

Rumor has it that another job will open up today.

Coach Blackburn is staying on so the job isn't open is what I am hearing.

Think of it this way: If you are using your regions officials then the coaches "scratches" come into play. Coach A has scratched the 1,3,5th ranked officials and Coach B has scratched 2,4,6th officials. Now you have your 7th,8th, 9th best offical working that championship game. Also I am sure that a few years back two 11th region schools were scratching officials based on which ones the other team liked because they would likely play each other. With out of region officials there is very little prior relationships and no scratches. Also much less of a chance of the official anticipating who is supposed to win. Most officials and coaches I have spoken to don't hate it as much as this thread suggests.

Hard fought game by both teams. Henry (20-10) led by 1 at half. Oldham (22-6) by 3 after three quarters. A quick 6-0 run by Oldham and a stretch of missed free throws by Henry proved to be too much to overcome. The 8th has been a very competitive tournament thus far.

Brossart did a really good job of handling Henry's pressure. Henry did a good job of attacking the big men for Brossart and getting them in foul trouble. 11 for Brossart played a ton of minutes and kept his team under control. It was a good game by two very disciplined teams. Congrats to the Mustangs.
