  1. Coach Faust is great and it is tough playing at St. Henry. Just watching a couple of games for CCH they will need to shoot much better from 3. Their top 3 point shooters in attempts are shooting 35% and 29% from 3 respectively. Ipsaro is averaging 26 points per game and noone else in double digits. They are not a good rebounding team at this point either. Obviously early but the rest of the 9th is much closer than I anticipated.
  2. Yes he did. Detzel had 10 points total. Not sure if all in 1st half. Fedders just seemed like he had an easy layup every time down the court. I know they are only 4 games in but CCH only has 1 player averaging double digits in points and no players averaging at least 5 rebounds per game. I would think that needs to change for them to make a deep run.
  3. I was surprised with the lack of playing time by Jones for CCH with St. Henry killing CCH underneath. The zone really gave CCH fits especially in the first half. CCH struggled from 3 shooting 25%. Was surprised to not see more out of Hussey. I was also expecting a faster pace from CCH. They went into 4 corners with about 3 minutes left in the game and a 5 point lead. Nice turnaround game for the Cru after losing their last game to NCC. This region is wide open.
  4. Birds came out sluggish. 3rd game in 4 nights. Fought through it for the road win. Birds out scored Tates Creek 26-9 in the 4th quarter including 6 3 pointers from 4 different players. Big game vs. St. Henry next week that will challenge the style of play the Brids like. Team is fun to watch so far. Averaging 90 points a game after the first 3.
  5. 26 shots taken for Hamilton. Noone else took more than 7. Wow.
  6. If CCH is knocking down shots, their new fast pace style of play will work out well for them. It will combat the size differential quite a bit. I will also take CCH because of their experience. Seniors Ipsaro and McGillis and Hussey a Junior are not only talented but bring that upperclassmen experience. Great Crossing has 1 Senior, 1 Junior and 8 Sophomores on their roster. I now the sophomores are very talented but at this point in the season and the game being in Park Hills, I will take the Colonels by double digits.
  7. Great points and I think that is what most outside of the Newport program have been saying. They will be real good at some point if they stay together. Having them rated 6th or lower in the region is not a knock it is simply where they are right now. Also, I believe you meant to say that Jabari "Did Not" participate last night. He would have been a big help because the Wildcats shot 25% from 3 point land last night (Kinney 2 for 9, Lee 1 for 3, Anderson 2 for 2, Turner 0 for 1 and Silverton 0 for 5). They will face many teams this season that will get up and down and make a ton of 3s and then try to zone them on defense forcing them to make outside shots.
  8. Jabari was on the bench in street clothes. He is not on the KHSAA roster at this point. Assuming he still needs to be cleared.
  9. Brossart led the whole way. Newport struggled with the zone in the first half. Couldn’t knock down any shots. Brossart was up 3 at half. Newport had multiple turnovers early in 2nd half helping Brossart to a 9-0 run to start the half. Brossart never looked back. Newport has Lots of talent but not playing like a team quite yet. Need to shoot better from outside and do the little things. No blocking out led to multiple Brossart easy put backs. I am sure Newport will be dangerous later this season.
  10. KCD throwing all over the Breds at the moment. DBs giving way too big of cushions.
  11. Speed wasn’t the issue in this game. Speed edge went to HHS. The Big fullback 39 was the issue.
  12. First TD for Scott Co. Bang Bang call. Would love instant replay and a pylon cam view ?. This was just one of a few very odd plays/calls. Wish the season wasn’t over but Proud of these Birds!!
  13. Not sure the Weinrich 2 man front would work in this game. Here are the point totals for Scott Co. in 2015-2018 while he was the Head Coach. All losses - 54, 42, 71, and 28 (Game ended at Halftime due to storms). I am confident in this team and staff. Let's look towards the future and not the past! Go Birds!!
  14. Rain looks to be out of the area by gametime. Dress appropriately for Tailgating!!
  15. Love it @TheConch Game would actually be in Park Hills as CCH has the better RPI.
  16. For this game, I want to see the Birds shake off any rust from the bye week and play a clean game in all 3 phases. Most importantly, get the win and hopefully stay healthy. Have some guys coming back from injury that can contribute.
  17. He is in 8th grade and this is not a shot on anyone but maybe we should move the 8th grade/Frosh discussions to the NKY Frosh page?
  18. He is not a 4 star receiver. 4 Star DB and a very small target on the offensive side. I can see if you get him the ball in space or on jet sweeps but definitely not a big time down the field threat. I am not sure on the QB. Hudl highlights are just as you say. They are highlights.
  19. I have heard about it. Can't wait to see it !!
  20. Great Crossing did it right for sure. Beautiful campus and facilities.
  21. Dude can play. If he decides to go this route, I am sure he will be successful.
  22. Cooper vs. Scott Co. is a very good first round game in 5A
  23. Freddy D and HHS wouldn’t meet until the finals so way too early to be discussing that. Scott Co. runs their rushing wing T very well. Their passing game is non existent and Lex Cath moved the ball on them very well. If HHS can get a lead at home, will be a very interesting game. Cooper will do well early vs. Scott Co. as they have good D Ends and a top notch linebacker. Scott co. Defensive backfield has trouble in coverage but they will pull away from cooper. 5A will be so fun to watch.
  24. Coach Sullivan would be livid if his team gave up 78 ?. All kidding aside, lots of talent at this level across the area. Hopefully they keep playing and continue to develop over the next 3 years!
