How often in Sphire's time at HHS could you say that about Highlands? How many times has Highlands coached themselves to a victory that wasn't expected? I'll start the bidding with the 2021 game against Bowling Green, the first of the Sphire era. I'll hang up and listen.

I'm having a hard time filling in the gap between how mad this guy is and the high school career his son got to have. Now, I know I'm posting this on a forum particularly devoted to NKY High School Football, a forum full of people who all very much know who his kid is, but the kid was a NKFCA 1st teamer, played in 2 state title games, was a captain his senior year, by all accounts seems to be a model kid, and the dad is THIS unhappy? He had a high school football career that 80 plus % of kids would have been thrilled to have. And the other thing that kind of shocks me, the facebook comments (yeah, I'm a glutton for punishment) are OVERWHELMINGLY supportive of his rants. The whole thing just seems crazy. Makes you long for the days when you didn't have to know what everyone was thinking, about everything, the moment they're thinking it.

It's well worth the trip. As for Ky fan base parking rankings, Highlands fans have to hold the #1 spot. They've trained their whole life for this scenario.

Not a fan of the playoff expansion in Ohio from a couple years ago. Also wasn't a fan back in the day when it was only 4 teams per region that made the playoffs. Really thought 8 teams was the goldilocks scenario, but oh well. Those three games listed above should be outstanding football games this weekend.

Highlands vs Lex Cath was a really good season opener last year, and I'd expect much the same this time in Fort Thomas.

Engler and Sphire also have history together, so I think its an easy situation for them to tailor the scrimmage to get what they want out of it.

Just a thought, but in watching that video above, it looks like they kick an extra point right before, then just turn around and run punt. The kid is punting it from the back line of the end zone. Seems more likely he just really got hold of one before the Cooper game than something devious.

I was told there are a couple of kids not playing football to focus on baseball, BUT, there are also a couple kids doing the opposite. The second group, the ones not playing baseball, are much bigger impact football players.
