  1. True story.... Rebels were practicing one day and a storm brew up just to the west of the stadium. The players asked Coach Chuck Smith if he thought they should seek shelter. Coach Smith replied that the storm would not bother their practice, for it was a big game that week. Sure enough, the storm broke up, went right around the city of Danville and regathered into a bigger storm that produced tornados. Chuck Smith even controls the weather.
  2. This is not just a football rivalry either. I can't remember the year, but Boyle beat Lex Cath in the first round of the Sweet 16 with a buzzer beater shot. They were down 11, I think, with less than 2 minutes to go and came back to win. There were Lexington Catholic fans that had left and were already in the ticket line to try to get tickets for their next game when they found out that Boyle came back to win.
  3. Boyle has always had a great run defense. This game was no different. Yes there were a few plays of large gains by Scott County. That was expected with Scott’s run heavy offense. To me, Scott needs to add more balanced offense. Their qb was very efficient and that is how they moved the ball against Boyle. Going into this game there was a lot of talk about the physicality of Scott and it being too much for Boyle. I think Boyle showed just how physical they are last night. Brock Driver and Austin Gorley had great defensive plays.
  4. Sophomore Garrick Lucas with a pick 6 last night for Wooodford. Can be a name to watch in the future.
  5. During the LCA game the commentators were senior Mason Young and sports writer Larry Vaught.
  6. Keep in mind a lot of the games you watch, like the Boyle games are all student ran. Students there are running the whole show, as commentators, camera, streaming, securing guest, the whole thing. They might not be the best in the business, but they are high school kids.
  7. Anyone know when Bixler is getting cleared to play? He will be a much needed addition to Boyle's defense.
  8. I think this was the difference in the game. You could tell late in the 3rd and into the 4th quarter that LCA was worn out.
  9. He along with the Smith brothers will not be playing on Friday night after being ejected for fighting this past Friday. Since Taylor will have their 3 main offensive players out, I am going with PT.
  10. Marion already had 8 players out for injuries, and 5 more were suspended after the game with Taylor County. They just don't have the numbers to fill a team without putting people places they have never played before. Why would you send out a freshmen that you are going to have to move a different position against a team like Central? You are just asking for more injuries.
  11. Anyone know if this game will be live streamed?
  12. 4:21 left to go in 3rd quarter and the Knights lead the Generals 26-8. Could Coach Carter have the Knights turned around?
  13. Due to injuries, Boyle will have one starting offensive lineman back from last year's team. WR Tarter is also out due to broken collar bone.
  14. Having Boyle in the top 10 this year, let alone the top 5 is a stretch. Offensive lineman injured, new QB. Just don't see it.
  15. The last time Marion rebuilt their program and made it to the state semi-final, to be defeated by Lone Oak, was under head coach Jeff Robbins. Also a Bell County grad that played for Dudley Hilton.
  16. The delay in announcing was because he moved from Florida. Where he was a coach.
  17. I hear a decision has been made. Just getting all their ducks in a row for the announcement. The new coach has some things he needs to finish up at his other school before he would like for the announcement to be made. I think this hire will be very shocking to most.
  18. Luke Imfeld (#8) WR, Daulton Peetz (#61) DL, Jackson Smith (#27) LB, Kicker, Collin Tiller (#7) LB, Jagger Gillis (#9) QB/ LB, Zach Mason (#75)OL, Nate Rush (#55) DL, Cole Lanter (#6) WR There are a few other seniors, but they don't get a lot of playing time. Tiller and Imfeld weren't always on the field. Sage Dawson (#2- Sophomore) is expected to be the QB next year. Avery Bodner (#10-Sophmore), most of the offensive line will all return. Oh, and there is another Lanter-Trey (#13) who is also a sophomore at WR.
  19. Any ideas on who is in the running? I've heard the decision is near but no names have been mentioned anywhere.
  20. Personally I think to be seen as a power you need to dominate. Not only in your district, but other games you play. No doubt Logan is working at building a program. Just takes time to get to that power ranking.
  21. I think this one could be very close. Since it is at Beechwood, I am going with Beechwood. However, I really hope Mayfield can pull out the upset.
  22. I hope that Boyle takes last week as a wake up call. They can not think Logan will just roll over and find themselves behind like they did last week. I am picking Boyle, but if they come out flat like last week, don't see it being a running clock
  23. Why is this even a topic at this point? These teams still have to play another game before they can even think about playing each other again.
