Boyle scored first on a long pass from Gillis to Lanter to go up 6 to 0.  Boyle got the ball right back and scored on a short Gillis run to go up 13 to 0.  The first half flew by with all the running and Boyle County up 13 to 0 over Johnson Central.

Boyle took the second half kickoff, overcame some penalties and Jackson Smith kicked a 29 yard field goal to put Boyle up 16 to 0. On the next drive Johnson Central marched down the field and Grant Rice scored on a short run to make it 16 to 6 Boyle.  The 2pt conversion failed.  Boyle got the ball back and wasted no time scoring on another Gillis to Lanter TD throw and catch to go up 23 to 6. JC answered immediately on a short Chase Price TD run to make it 23 to 13. Boyle went right back down the field and scored on a Gillis 1 yard run to make it 30 to 13 with 243 to play in the game and that was the final score.

JC came on in the second half, but Boyle County is the most complete football team in 4A. Gillis and Lanter were clicking tonight like they have been all year and Bodner rounded out the Rebels' offense with a big night on the ground. The offensive line might be Boyle's true MVP tonight and the defense did what what it had to to slow JC down. That side of the ball has been exceptional over the last three months.

The transition from Chuck Smith to Justin Haddix couldn't be going any smoother. It's Haddix's program now. I think this title cements that.

I agree on JC, nothing to be ashamed of there, but Boyle was peaking and I agree they were the most complete team in 4A.

Luke Imfeld (#8) WR, Daulton Peetz (#61) DL, Jackson Smith (#27) LB, Kicker, Collin Tiller (#7) LB, Jagger Gillis (#9) QB/ LB, Zach Mason (#75)OL, Nate Rush (#55) DL, Cole Lanter (#6) WR

There are a few other seniors, but they don't get a lot of playing time.  Tiller and Imfeld weren't always on the field.  

Sage Dawson (#2- Sophomore) is expected to be the QB next year.  Avery Bodner (#10-Sophmore), most of the offensive line will all return.  Oh, and there is another Lanter-Trey (#13) who is also a sophomore at WR.
