  1. Boundaries ARE important I agree but you can not have too much communication. I’m sure the biggest gripe against coaches by most people is “lack of communication” Rules and Laws do not affect people that set out to do bad. Bad people are bad people regardless of rules and laws.
  2. The more you dig into this, the more unrealistic it becomes. It’s not SM that is the problem. People are the problem. Good Luck “regulating” bad behavior
  3. I know of at least TWO Catholic schools in Louisville that are having meetings about this very subject. My GUESS is they will follow this as it seems to be law. There will be lawsuits concerning this is also a GUESS.
  4. I’m curious. How is calling the player, even with a school phone, any different than texting? I'd say that’s a big No No. Sad times.
  5. That looks intentional. What has taken place since the season was completed 3+ months ago. Sad
  6. How has the game changed? I know at the College and Professional level, the game has changed immensely. High School? I haven’t seen that great of change. You still have to throw it and catch it. Offensively, you can win with small ball or wait for big hits.
  7. Agree it’s a loss but T will be just fine. They have plenty of depth throughout the program. JJ is truly a talent. He’s had some monster games and some that leave you shaking your head. Best of luck to the young man.
  8. I wish this was just my opinion but read many High Level coaches and NBA Front Office opinions. The game is/has been changing. It’s not dominated as much by athleticism as it was in the past. Skill much more important. Look at the teams playing in the Finals. Look at the last few MVPs. The last SEVEN aren’t from around here (as my grandfather used to say) It has already happened and many don’t realize. Respect!
  9. It already happened and most are unaware. Put simply the Euro model for youth is to practice 5 times to play 1 game. AAU is practice once (maybe)to play 5 games. There is NO DOUBT what the better model is. They also build in rest for kids. Europeans are more skilled (IN GENERAL) and have a better understanding of the game. Look at the last Olympics. If Steph hadn’t gone nuclear the US loses. The women were lucky to win as well. These were to Nations that don’t have near the population of the USA. We have been passed and act like we haven’t.
  10. Would like to get know when they play over the next two weeks? 7th region is LOADED per usual
  11. That District does the Colts no favors. Central and CAL are always top in Class. I'm sure Coach Jackson will have his squad ready to compete!
  12. Before stating something as “disregard for integrity of the process” shouldn’t we at least find out why they didn’t play? Could be an injury from the night before. Could be number of other things that we don’t know about. Making judgments without the full story is what Social Media is great at but these are kids and MAYBE the reasons are valid.
  13. I haven’t seen many of the players on this list BUT IN GENERAL who you compete against does matter. If a guy pitches against Podunk HS, his stats are going to look better than pitching against better teams. (I have no doubt McLean is a great pitcher)
  14. Lou Holy Cross beat Whitefield Academy 53-50 in a very well played and close throughout game. Oldham County beat DeSales by 12.
  15. I love this discussion although I’m not a “football” guy. Just a fan. Something I find very interesting is the discussion started out about staic vs flying starts and went all manner of directions with a lot of good discussion. Now I have a question for the folks already involved in the discussion. It has been said that weightlifting is a key to strength and gaining weight. But I’ve also read different articles that say weight training is a key to weight LOSS. How does that work that it is for both? How does the body know? I know other factors are involved with both and maybe that is the answer
  16. I’m pretty sure the SEC talent was said in jest. Sully will be successful at SH. Probably not to the levels of Cooper but a success nonetheless the less.
  17. A revamped is certainly needed. Fewer classes and a better way to determine seeding would help.
  18. Saw him play in some JV games this past year. Hes got a lot of talent!
  19. ATL That all makes sense for a largely populated state like Georgia. It also makes sense with multiple classifications. IN THEORY this could work in a smaller state such as Kentucky for football and all other “classed” sports. I’m wondering how this would work in one champion sports like basketball and baseball?
  20. Thanks I have my doubts about how money is spent by bureaucracies. My delving into such isn’t going to change the fact that theses schools/kids got the short end of the stick.
  21. Yeah well I have questions then. Why isn’t the money there? This was a long term project that was supposed to be completed at ALL JCPS High Schools. Seems like the money would have been appropriated/earmarked WAY ahead of the actual project?
  22. I’ve got a friend who played for Coach K. My friend and I are both in our 60’s! Incredible to have that kind of staying power in an arena (HS coaching) that spits out Coaches regularly.
  23. “district leaders blaming increased construction costs” Do the “leaders” think that delaying will LOWER the costs? That is not happening.
