  1. Yes Sadly let’s NOT raise expectations, let’s lower them for everyone. I’ve said for years T and X should form a league with schools from Cincinnati and Indianapolis. CAL is able to compete at that level now as well. KHSAA does NOTHING for the schools that bring them the most.
  2. You would think if he asked for and received that type of compensation, he would also get an above scale compensation package for his assistant coaches. One man/woman cannot do it alone. THE KEY to many quality programs comes from the quality of the people associated with the program (assistants).
  3. I’ll admit I do not know Coach at all. I just know what I see here in digital ink. With the way things are now (coaches being relieved of duties at the drop of a hat) I see NO problem with any coach moving any time they see fit. Just like players/coaches on the College level. Don’t be a hypocrite and want one to be able to and one not to!
  4. Sadly all coaching jobs are “interim” anymore. Contracts not worth the paper they are written on and Administration are so scared of a few loud parents. Coaching used to be a noble profession (and still is) but it’s a one way street now. Make the well heeled happy or find a new place to coach.
  5. Imagine that…parents!
  6. Fire the pitching coach. T gave up runs! Kidding obviously but they have been on some kind of streak lately.
  7. I think he’s gonna stay around for this one. Has a daughter (I believe) that should be on the team.
  8. You, me and MANY coaches in this state would love to see that but like most rules it would end up in court!
  9. This job has been filled and it is a GREAT hire. James Schooler has been a fixture in boys basketball in the City for years and was on the boys staff at Male this past year. He is taking over the girls program at H.
  10. I know it’s been said before but Conferences is the way this is heading. If using RPI for 2nd round, if you dissolve Districts and move to Conferences, you can use RPI (or something BETTER!!!) for Playoff seeding.
  11. I wonder if this was his choice or if he was “encouraged” to look around?
  12. Which again shows how inept RPI is. Do better KHSAA! Please help give these kids a better system to crown champions.
  13. The Male team led by Michael Bush that lost to Brian Brohm and Trinity is THE answer. 2003 I believe?
  14. Adding sports is GREAT for the student athletes! Finding quality folks to officiate said sports is becoming harder and harder. I hope this doesn’t dilute an already slim pool of official candidates as I would think some of the folks that do football in the fall also do baseball/softball in the spring.
  15. Agree The KHSAA have allowed almost unlimited movement of students to avoid going to court and now have GUARANTEED going to court by this.
  16. Great that they have a system used for the 2nd round Sad the system is RPI Do better Kentucky. RPI is a horrible predictor of strength of schedule/talent/team.
  17. It’s incredible what people in power say when there is no one to question them. At least be HONEST.
  18. Just go back to FOUR classes takes care of most of these problems!
  19. I would venture to guess the school that shows up the most is not a very successful one. Awesome work!!!
  20. Who do you mean by “man in charge”? Is that Coach, AD or Principal?
  21. REALLY doubt it’s Coach. But he should/could put an end to it as quickly as possible. A little promotion is fine but this seems “over the top”
  22. All true statements. If parents actually knew (or cared!)what all went into “coaching” their sons and daughters, maybe they would keep off social media, and emails to the AD and Principal, and Superintendents. But they don’t.
  23. That’s a fair point. I think what the 15th does, still have Districts and let District winners have byes out to the Quarter Finals is a good alternative. My thought process is based on the Louisville and Oldham area. This year you had CAL lose in first round of District to Eastern where CAL had already beaten the eventual region champ. The Oldham County District in the future is always going to leave out a good team. Fun discussion.
  24. I don’t know him or anything about this situation but the verbiage seems odd to me? Appoints? Anyone else?
