7th Region may be the toughest region in the state but their districts are soft. Only the 27th is difficult to predict who will be the 2nd team and right now it’s pretty set that Trinity will be one of them.

11th Region 43rd - Lexington Catholic, Tates Creek, Lexington Christian, Dunbar, Lafayette 42nd - Scott County, Frederick Douglas, Henry Clay, Bryan Station, Sayre 41st - Franklin County, Frankfort, Great Crossing, Western Hills, Frankfort Christian 44th - Madison Central, Madison Southern, Berea, Model (Blind draw kills this district)

Rank the districts in each region based on the difficulty of moving on to the region. 9th 35th - Cov Cath, Beechwood, Holmes, Holy Cross, (Cov Latin occasionally) 33rd - Conner, Cooper, Ryle, Boone, Heritage 36th - Highlands, Newport, NCC, Dayton, Bellevue 34th - St. Henry, Dixie, Lloyd, Ludlow, Villa

Without knowing all the facts, we cannot speculate what happened. We don't know if Cody was suspended or just chose not to play. Great job Stainforth in getting the Colonels to NKU again.

I saw a very ugly game last night. Neither team had any flow offensively and Draud looked out of sorts for most of the game. Holmes battled back after a poor start but just didn't have the discipline to put together stops on the defensive end or make good decisions offensively. The crowd was brutal to hear as well from the Holmes side.

I'm sorry but regardless of the year, there are no more than 3-4 teams that pre-state tournament analysts even talk about. Also, if you're worried about teams dominating regions like in Louisville, you are too late. Ballard and Trinity are already doing that and I believe you're about to see Butler and Fern Creek do the same thing in the 6th. Cov Cath has won 4 of the last 6 9th Region titles and that will be the norm as long as they operate how they currently do. No other schools besides Warren Central and Bowling Green have won a 4th Region title in the last 10 years. Only four schools have won the 2nd, 5th, 11th, and 14th Regions in that time span. Parity is not what we think it is in our state.

Dixie loss was also 4th game in 5 days. Has to be a factor.

What's sad is that 60-70% of these Cov Cath freshman will never play basketball there again. And you could argue that the Sophomores on JV won't sniff the floor until they're seniors.

Think the 35th is going to continue to be the toughest district in the 9th. Cov Cath, Beechwood, Holmes, and Holy Cross will be battling it out for years to come with the talent they have.

I'm not sure why you feel the need to bash this kid. Moving from Elementary school to middle is a natural transition. If you want to talk about where he played, I believe he never played for Woodland MS and just went there and played for Scott. His family and him apparently felt Holy Cross was a better fit after a year of playing at Scott. Let him be.

9th Region Player of the Year. Others think it should go to Disken but he's not asked to do as much as Vinson. Vinson is the best overall player in the region.

Good point but a win for Holy Cross means a definite avoidance of Cov Cath. So, we can just disagree on how important it is to both teams. I expect a great game.

So you are basically stating the same thing for both teams. Huge game for Holmes and Holy Cross. Hoping for a great game.

Best player in Northern Kentucky and it isn't even close.

I believe it should always be held at Holmes. You can even do it to where the "host school" can run concessions. It doesn't do Beechwoood, Holy Cross, nor Cov Cath any good to host this at their school.
