Tigers win the #2 seed in 35th district.

 

Holy Cross will be the #4 seed.

 

Fun game. Fast paced with some really good plays by both teams.

 

However, I hate to say this, but it was poorly officiated by a top crew. Some outrageously bad calls and swallowed their whistles on several obvious fouls.

Scotty Draud & Will Downton both with double doubles. Draud finishes with a game-high 30 and 12 rebounds and Downton finishes with 12 and 10.

 

McClendon led HC with 22. Meyer finished with 19 — only 2 in first half. Cole Busald led a tremendous defensive effort that held the Indians - who average 72.5 per game - to 66.

Busald played great defense on Meyer. Meyer is impressive. Very good athlete who can play under control at a high speed. Most of his points were open court, high speed drives to the basket.

Beechwood hit a lot of key free throws in the 4th quarter.

Beechwood seems to have found a way to play team ball. This is the third game in a row the Tigers look like a team.....Downton....Draud....Busald....Rolf....all hitting key shots.....Downton with the huge windmill dunk and two key threes. Draud with 30 pts...Downton with 12...Busald with 11. When Beechwood has three players hitting double digits they can beat most teams. Holy Cross's Brandon McClendon and Jerimiah Hicks and the freshman Jacob Meyer all had good games. When Beechwood plays this kind of basketball they can't beat alot of team. Looking forward to a strong showing in the district play.

Obviously very important win for Beechwood.

 

Is Latin School playing in the districts? Holy Cross as 4 seed would play them first before facing CCH.

Most underrated player in football and basketball in NKY. The kid is a flat out winner in everything he does.

Any word on Rylee’s injury? Very impressive that BW stepped up and covered his absence.

Think the 35th is going to continue to be the toughest district in the 9th. Cov Cath, Beechwood, Holmes, and Holy Cross will be battling it out for years to come with the talent they have.
