Well let’s be honest, Football is nothing like it used to be. Two a days in the 95-98 degree heat. These kids would never be able to hang.

One would think that Pendleton could have handled the rain and muddy conditions a little better then Newport since the Port plays most of their games on Turf. Solid win for Newport. Sad the season ended for Pendleton. Newport won’t advance pass Beechwood next week.

Watching and seeing photos of some games Friday on grass fields. Brings me back to when I played PeeWee. Playing in the rain and mud was what I loved most about football. I hope some of the schools who have grass fields keep them. Some of my favorite memories are on grass aka muddy fields. Especially on Newport’s field before the turf

Big UK football guy here. I was watching the game this past weekend and they were talking about Coach Schlarman. Do y’all remember him coaching at Newport? I wonder if his heart wasn’t pulled to College Football where the Newport program would be at today? I think it would be a completely different story down in Newport. Great Man!!!

Right, little odd. I guess you have to jump at the opportunity if you aren’t happy and if nothing in a coaches contract says otherwise then make the jump. Do what is best for yourself. I guess at the end of the day you have to look out for number 1

Honestly Newport would have taken the “L” regardless of a coach being hired from Newport High. Heck, you could give NHS NCC’s playbook and They would still with at the same Margin

What would you do if you were a coach? Put yourself in the coaches position. This is what I am asking?

I get he is young, but to publicly embarrass your team and carry on the way he did can not go unpunished. If you let him walk then he gets to walk in dress pants and a team shirt. He needs to earn that jersey back, earn the respect back from his team and coaches. Teams can’t let this behavior happen.

He embarrassed his team, his school and his city. You don’t not get that right.

Local Northern Ky School Player is apparently not allowed to Walk during his Senior night because he is suspended for two games (senior night is one of them). He was having a bad game and was replaced. As any good coach would do. Instead of being a senior leader he took his helmet, his equipment and jersey off walked out of the game while running his mouth. My question for discussion is how do school handle situations like this? In my opinion he would never be allowed back on the team. As a player I always would get mad at my team mates who would throw their helmet, heck I would call them out for sitting on them. Let’s discuss!

Scott wasn’t in the the finals and The camels lost against scott because of self inflicted injuries. Scott is not the better team.

I saw his article on FB. One of his goals is to beat Fleming County. Which was similar to the one at Newport which was to beat NCC. He had two chances to beat NCC and choked in the last two minutes of the game. Can’t run the same play 5 times in a row and expect it to work. On all honesty I think Newport needs to merge with Bellevue and Dayton. Pull more players and could be a solid team.

This Wildcat team did not spend any time on their game in the off season due to the pandemic. They are a year behind & their season shows that with their record. Come onWildcats spend some time on your game in the off season. You are better than this season record. Hope help is on the way

NCC will be making home in Wilder.

I drove past that field on route 8 and thought it would be an amazing complex to put a football and baseball field in.

Curious on why NCC is trying to find a new ball field. Route 8 field flood that much? They decided to go another direction then Southgate community center. So where will the new field be?

Newport played very well tonight. They were in control the whole game. Nelson and Snapp shot very well. White was a great court general. If this fire stays lit under Newport we might just see the glimpse of the 9-0 team we saw at the start of the season!

Newport takes the “W”. They were pretty much in control the whole game. Snapp and Nelson solid shooting nights. White lead this team like a champ. If they can clean up a little on the boards it’s might be the same result Friday. Solid victory when it’s counts! Way to go cats!

I did not hear them early on but I would say the last 2 or 3 homes games it’s been going on. I think the young man will get his 1000 points but fans should allow him to get it whenever he does. I’ve heard he needs 28 points to reach that milestone.

What I think is wrong these past few games that I have been to is Newport has the White kid close to 1000 points. I’ve heard fans (a few are relatives) yelling at the coaches, “why are you taking him out”, “put him back in he’s your best player”, “Snapp you are the worse coach in Newport history”. I’ve seen this Newport team earlier in the season and now and it’s no where near the same team. I feel that the fans and relatives need to allow this to happen naturally instead of trying to force it. DaeShawn White is a heck of a player, but to me right now you can tell he’s chasing 1000 points by taking bad shots. From what I’ve heard earlier in the season he was averaging almost a triple double. To now he’s taking over 20 shots a game and dropping his assists down in half). He’s by far Newport’s best player, but right now it looks like fans are becoming a big issue to what’s going on at Newport. The thing is when these people are yelling things to the coaches the players on the bench can hear them. I’m sure players on the bench while these things are being yelled at the coaches are effecting them in a negative way. The Newport team earlier in the year was fun to watch and now it looks like a 1 man show. Newport has a ton of talent and can beat decent teams. The Newport team earlier in the season will not be back until this young man gets his 1000 point and it’s a shame because they have all the talent in the world. I hope the fans just let this happen (which it will) and Newport can move on from it and worry about the Districts.

I’d like to see Newport get back up on horse and get a nice win streak going in the All A. But just depends on what team shows up. If the team that has lost 6 straight comes they will get bounced early by Lloyd. But I like that Beechwood/Newport Match up.
