Finally Newport showed up.

Newport played very well tonight. They were in control the whole game. Nelson and Snapp shot very well. White was a great court general. If this fire stays lit under Newport we might just see the glimpse of the 9-0 team we saw at the start of the season!

Newport was the aggressor all night. However, they also showed great patience and really shortened the game. NCC looked tentative all night and missed a lot of rebounds on missed free throws and on in the paint shots. In other words not long rebounds. Newport was able to take advantage of the NCC "bigs" and really exerted their will on them. Several times Newport players would knife through the paint and grab a board away from an NCC player. I thought the rebounding was a huge reason for the upset.

Congrats to Newport.

I have to ask. Was NCC at full strength tonight?

Quick to make that excuse.

Very surprised. Not one to make excuses but Jefferson and Muliken missing half of the season did not help. Pangallo I think is a future star, only a sophomore too. Congrats to Newport!

Sounds like they were if nobody replies, lol.

This is the Twitter content I'm looking for:

James Weber, from his game updates, "Nice sportsmanship with NCC players on the floor embracing their opponents while time was running out."

*Onions*

Congrats to Newport. Nice season for the Thouroughbreds despite being short handed most of the season. They almost ended up being the 1 seed. Tough district.

Did they play last night?
