How did the scrimmage go Friday?

I hope that all kids are ruled eligible. I think transfer rule needs to at minimum one free transfer or maybe do away with the transfer rule all together. With that being said if you can play at 3 different high schools within 12 months and be eligible then the KHSAA should never rule anyone ineligible going forward.

No. During the handshake line after Woodford in the tourney they had some coaches talking some to one of the Boyle players that caused a little dust up between everyone but nothing major.

There are plenty of 7 on 7 tourney's even leagues that these types of teams can play in and they are constructed for that type of play. I have no problem with that if a kid can get exposure or extra reps. What I don't understand is getting in a 7 on 7 tourney against a bunch of high school only teams or why EKU would allow that. Would be similar to AAU basketball teams getting in a tourney against all high school only teams. The 7 on 7 teams in Lexington in Louisville are comprised of kids from several different high schools and they generally travel out of state a lot but are going against similar teams not against a high school team.

Highlands hasn't had a college player since 2011?

Kid was very good against Boyle but if no FCS or FBS offers at this point it will be really hard to get FBS during senior year. He could definitely earn an FCS scholarship from senior year play on the field. What is his height, weight and 40 time? It seems one of those is maybe holding him back because his play on the field seems good enough to play FCS.

They got some absolute dudes on this team. Not sure they are there with BG, Cooper and those type teams but they have definitely narrowed the gap. They will make things interesting in 5A this year.

Haddix had a great high school and college career as a QB. He is an offensive genius and if you play QB in that system you will have multiple people open on every play. There are always multiple weapons at skill position for Boyle so not a bad place to play QB. Boyle's returning QB threw for 30 TD's with 1 INT and completed 77% of his passes and doesn't get talked about a lot but is a really good player.

They have some talented skill guys and players all over. Who is going to be QB? How does team look compared to last year?

Yes I can agree with some of this. CAL will have a new coach and have to replace stud QB. They have massive amounts of talent all over the field especially at skill positions. Lex Cath also breaking in a new coach. I don't think Mercer has any chance in regards to 3A they will be lucky to have 35 players on the roster. If a team is going to make noise out of the East this is the year to do it.

It seems like the west side of 3A is so much stronger than the east side.

From what I have seen the new QB coming in is rehabbing ACL surgery so might be a while before he is on the field. I am not sure what the timeline is for returning to play.

Adkins is a good coach. Interesting he is looking to leave Mercer after two years and a trip this year to the region championship.

Just asking because I don't know. Does DCA have girls Middle School Basketball 6th, 7th and 8th grade teams? Middle school teams in this area are in the Salt River Conference. Curious if they field teams at this age and play in that conference.

12th region was really down and has been down the last few years. Most games in region tourney were in the 30's-40's.

SW has reputation as one of the worst fan bases and overall bad sports from the coaching staff on down when it comes to girls basketball in the 12th region.

Sounds like two very exciting games with both going to overtime. How hard was the other 32 minutes to watch with such low scoring? All four teams have good coaches and this time of the year is all about just advancing. Usually if a team feels like they have inferior talent you will see them play stall ball on offense. It seems like a lot of the teams in the 12th region lack the ability to score for whatever reason. Is it by design or just not having enough players to go out and get buckets?

What if your QB has no shot of playing college football as a QB but has legit shot of playing college football on defense. With no film on defense could cost the kid a chance of playing college football if not allowed to play defense.
