Colonels_Wear_Blue Posted April 21 Posted April 21 I haven't seen too much pop up so far for Rockcastle County's schedule aside from these games: Aug 15 at North Laurel (Scrimmage) Aug 29 vs. Russellville (at North Laurel Praxel Line Services Bowl) Sep 19 vs. Madison Southern Sep 26 vs. Clay County (District) Oct 17 vs. McCreary Central (District) Oct 31 vs. Southwestern The Rocks will presumably have Caden Lovell returning at QB this year as a junior, plus Isaiah Jackson will be back as a senior. Jackson had over 1200 yards rushing last year plus another 250 yards receiving. On defense, only 2 of their leading 10 tacklers from last season graduate in May, so the Rockets should have a lot returning on D. 1
Colonels_Wear_Blue Posted April 24 Author Posted April 24 Add in a home game against Southwestern for Week 11.
RoCkMaN28 Posted May 9 Posted May 9 2025 schedule: Aug 22 at Jeffersontown Aug 29 vs. Russellville (At North Laurel) Sep 5 at Whitley County Sep 12 vs. Powell County (new field reveal) Sep 19 vs. Madison Southern Sep 26 vs. Clay County (district) Oct 3 at Bell county (district) Oct 10 Open Oct 17 vs. McCreary Central (district) Oct 24 at Knox Central (district) Oct 30 vs. Southwestern Pulaski 1 2
RoCkMaN28 Posted Monday at 04:04 AM Posted Monday at 04:04 AM With the returning talent Rock has I feel they should be favored in 8 out of the 10 games on the schedule. The only two they probably won’t be favored in is at Bell and depending on how the season plays out maybe the final game against Southwestern. The Southwestern game Rock very easily could be favored by the time it’s played depending how both teams look. Rock certainly has the ability to finish 10-0 and I would be surprised if they finish worse than 8-2. I feel they are certainly 1 of 4 teams to be favored in the East side of 3A. Especially considering Belfry is no longer in 3A and Lex catholic has been moved to the West side of 3A. I would say in no particular order you have Rock, Bell, Lawerence and Letcher County Central as favorites out of the east with the winner of our district being favorites to make it out being either Bell/Rock. Would I be wrong in thinking that? I doubt any team in the East return as much of their roster as does Bell and Rock. Rock only loss 2 starters from lineup plus kicker.
RVaughn Posted Monday at 01:16 PM Posted Monday at 01:16 PM It seems like the west side of 3A is so much stronger than the east side.
RoCkMaN28 Posted Tuesday at 03:13 AM Posted Tuesday at 03:13 AM The west probably has the best talent and best team in CAL but I would argue that there second best team if it’s Lex Cath may not be as good as the East best team. However overall the West would have the best talented teams below the top. The west also has Louisville central but unfortunately they are in same district as CAL. However ppl are saying that CAL lost a lot of players and the gap may not be as wide as years past. Also many are thinking that Mercer isn’t all that far behind Lex Cath for their district title. Guess we will have to see when season unfolds. I would put Cal at the top and then say after that you could put Lex Cath next with Central in a second tier with Catholic. You could then group Mercer, Hart, Union and outside chance in Adair with a puncher chance out of the West for a third tier. The east pretty much has 6 teams that stand out. Bell would be the favorite in top tier like Cal. I would in no order tier 2 Rock,Lawerence and Letcher Central with a third tier consisting of Russell and Lloyd Memorial. However I would argue that on any given night that anyone in tier 2 or 3 could give bell a game an upset them if things go right. 3A while Cal is heavy favorites to win it all I would have to say it has best parity of teams capable of making a run and facing Cal in the finals. Who knows after we witnessed Boyle losing last year prior to state anything is possible and I in no way think Cal is on Boyle county level or at least the Boyle team of last year.

Who knows after we witnessed Boyle losing last year prior to state anything is possible and I in no way think Cal is on Boyle county level or at least the Boyle team of last year. With the way that the seeding works now, couldn't both CAL and Central reach the state semi-finals where they would be reseeded against the 2 surviving East teams? If CAL wins the district, and Central finishes 2nd, they wouldn't meet in the 2nd round. The 3rd round is reseeded by RPI, with the #1 in the West vs #4 in the West, and #2 in the West vs #3 in the West. So, if Central's RPI is 2nd or 3rd in the West, they wouldn't play CAL in that round either. If both survive to the final four, it would be reseeded again by RPI. With Rockcastle, and Bell County not having a lot of strong RPI teams you could end up with the 2 teams in the East against the 2 teams in the West. That would mean that an team from the East might not make it Kroger Field. It could be 2 teams from the West, 2 teams from the East, or one from each. The only way that a team from the East is guaranteed an appearance in the finals is if the seeding puts the teams in the East at #1 and #4 or #2 and #3 where they will play each other in the semi-finals. 1

Yes I can agree with some of this. CAL will have a new coach and have to replace stud QB. They have massive amounts of talent all over the field especially at skill positions. Lex Cath also breaking in a new coach. I don't think Mercer has any chance in regards to 3A they will be lucky to have 35 players on the roster. If a team is going to make noise out of the East this is the year to do it.
