I didn't realize Ohio was playing up. If they are actually playing above the class they are supposed to, why do they play so many 2A schools? Why do they play any at all? Seems they would go to 5A since Apollo and Marshall move up.

Do you think they'd be better at 5 or 6A? They loose their running back and qb after this coming season. They also need to find a replacement for Peters. He was a huge part of their O. Don't know what they have coming as replacements.

What's your point? I never said the job wasn't appealing. I asked what would all the things do to the search. You didn't answer the question. Oh, bye the way Apollo had one of its' best seasons in a long time and they still didn't beat County, so according to you, they'll not be making any noise in 6A. I think there's a great deal of talent at Apollo. I have my opinions as to why they've had the seasons they've had over the years. I just hope the next coach gets the right kids in the right spaces and that they compete.

That will work.

Could be but those reps aren't the same as when something is on the line and the potential starter could be playing against back ups also. You know not all varsity time is equal.

With all the debate about playing up, where do you have Highlands if they decide to go to 5A? I see you've listed them as playing 4A. If they went to district 5, that would put 6 teams in district 5 with 4 teams in district 6.

So true.

With marshall's lack of success in 5A, would they have to move up? That would make district 1 and 2 both have 6 teams. Apollo might not be ready for what's coming their way either. They had a special season last year, but they graduated key people and they have no coach. They could easily revert back to the 2-9 team they've been. The Apollo Daviess County game would take on a seriousness I haven't seen since the days of the Big eight conference. Wow, yes, that's old.

Not just local coaches, I know a couple coaches in Western KY that could take note of that.

Bowling Green will definitely be better next season. Don't know about south warren. CCH I am sure won't rest on it's past laurels so they will be in the hunt. But to say that the Championship game for 5a will be between South Warren and Bowling Green......... You are assuming a lot. I guess you figure every other team is just not going to attempt to get better. Owensboro won't go 4-7 next year, I am pretty sure of that. Chrstian County isn't going to just stand by either. Graves is usually pretty tough. You have your opinion and I have mine. Maybe we'll get a chance to talk about it if you make it down to Owensboro in September when the purples and the devils hook up for the first time next season. Burgers and sodas on me.

I find that being a game official is a lot like being a cop. Everybody has an opinion on how you should do your job but no body wants to step in and do it. I say this because I have worked as a police officer and I have attempted to be a football referee. Cop job was fine, referee, well, let's say it was an attempt. Didn't cost anyone the game but I have a totally different level of respect for them.

Aren't NBA officials full time? College officials aren't. Could be part of the reason.

just a question, but do you think there are egos involved?

Get 'em coach!

I wish more kids would learn to play defense, pass properly and shoot free throws before they worry about shooting threes. But what does espn show on sports center? Those three? Only when they aren't performed properly.

Watching an NBA game in person gives you a totally different perspective on the athletes playing the game.

Apollo moving to 6A in 2018. New stadium, new district, new schedule, same old Daviess County (with more at stake). What is that gonna do to the search for a coach?

Apollo moving to 6A and Ohio moving to 5A? I guess one will replace the other. That will give much more meaning to that Daviess County Apollo rivalry. I wonder how this will affect the search for a coach?

Trinity and X home every thanksgiving and some very ugly games during the season while teams run up the score to up their rankings.

I agree with you 100 percent. A lot of times parents want to live through their kids. Want them to do the things they weren't talented enough to do or they just didn't get the chance to. So they are going to make sure little Johnny or Susie are going to play.

Owensboro High School is about to find out about the transfer process first hand as Will Warren former QB at Owensboro Catholic is enrolled at the school. According to KHSAA rules he must sit out a full year from the last time he participated in a varsity sport unless granted an exception. He last played for Catholic Sept. 1, 2017. So unless he's granted an exception (if he plays) he won't get the opportunity to play against catholic. So I guess I will get to see the ins and outs of the transfer process up close and personal.

You and "TribePride" said it all.

Exactly. But a lot of times if you have a coach like that, (more than likely) he'll rub parents the wrong way. Then they (for better or worse) get involved in the process. Even if they have the best intentions they'll will ruin it. If (when I played) I came home and said the coach yelled at me, my father would have asked me what I did to get yelled at. Now, the parents take to social media to trash the coach, then call the powers that be, call other parents, maybe call the coach etc; just to find out that their son isn't doing what he's supposed to. I've seen it several times on the middle school level and at least twice on the high school level.

speed and size, can't coach or buy either.

Did UK or Louisville recruit any of those kids? Probably not, they aren't from Florida.
