  1. Two thumbs up to your QB club. Great for you and especially the kids.
  2. After talking to a few Aces fans and hearing about a candidate or two that they interviewed, I agree with Eagles8791. Catholic is free to do what they want to do, but I don't know how the Aces faithful are feeling about this pick. Other than him being OC at Catholic, what else has he done?
  3. Back in the day, you'd see a student bus pull up with the team bus. Do schools still do that? The last time OHS went, I don't believe they did.
  4. Thanks, that hadn't crossed my mind. Much appreciated.
  5. Great read! I am in the final stages of this marathon (he's coming upon his senior season). I wish I had seen this his freshman year. We are working hard though. You didn't mention Hudl. I've used that to put together highlights. Should I still shoot my own? This has been a great help. He get that aid, I got two tickets for you.
  6. If Logan Johnson would listen to the "if you are a player, you're a player" statement OHS would have a much better team. There are a lot of opinions along that line, but I'll just say this. Players in wrong spots, kids on the bench that should be (at the very least) given an opportunity to show what ability they may have, way to much listening to parental input (IMO), are reasons that Owensboro will continue to be in the same boat they've been in for the past couple of years. Unless the situation changes, it won't be them making a run in district. Though, hope springs eternal.
  7. Owensboro hadn't won a district for several years until last year when they beat Apollo at home. They played a very strong game when they met for the second time but were blown out in the first round of the district tournament. Questionable moves by the coaching staff may have contributed to the loss. With that being said, there is no doubt that the devils are a talented team, I have heard about how young and talented they are for the past two years (no seniors last year, everybody back, loaded with juniors and sophomores); time to live up to the hype. IMO Coach Johnson has people playing in the wrong position, but he's the coach and I am just a spectator. I just hope that he declines to send the same pitcher to the mound 3 times against the same team. Might be a different outcome in the tournament this year if he mixes it up a bit. It's been quite a year for Apollo (football and so far in basketball). I wonder if they keep the magic going. I am looking forward to see how it goes.
  8. I totally agree. It would be a good investment to have an attorney look over the NCA. Might save you a bunch of trouble in the long run.
  9. Keep on riding!!!! Like I've said, you've done a great job. Book that flight to vegas before the magic wears off. They might give Cov Cath all they want. Regardless of where they came from, they are still champs of the 3rd region. I'll say this, if they don't respect em, Apollo might just show Cov Cath what everyone in the third region knows. Don't sleep on the Eagles. Though I love what Coach Drake has done, if they had waited a week to vote, maybe Barker would have gotten Coach of the Year.
  10. I agree with you statements about Riley. Let's see if Catholic's ad can work the same magic with the football coach.
  11. I agree 100%. Has catholic ever had a coach like Riley? I'm going to show my age but I think the last coach they had that was a true difference maker was Greibie. He was catholic's coach before Bruce Embry took over. Catholic battled OHS every year for the regional championship, but never got over the hump. Couldn't take the Aces lightly back then. They battled. With all that, I believe Apollo gets rupp and cov cath. Be careful what you wish for.
  12. Owensboro isn't listed. They do have a trainer, I believe full time.
  13. I'm with you. I've heard that Owensboro might be changing their logo. Don't know what the idea is for a replacement, but I am against it.
  14. Still hurting about the Devils.:banghead: I see the Aces heading to the house (that prediction alone will probably give them the win). I agree with everyone that it will be a very good game, I just hope that the referees do not interject themselves into the game with bad officiating. Thanks for your breakdown of the games this year. I waited for them every week. I do feel like the joy of winning for who ever takes the crown tonight will be short lived due to the fact that they will more than likely be running into Covington Catholic which will in turn prove to be a wall as Bowling green as proven to be for devil football and mayfield has been for aces football. (It's coming, football is in the air) Not that it cannot be surmounted but in all likely hood, no. I agree with 58 (as much as I hate to admit it), Apollo has that look. I do want to say congratulations to Corey Gardner for winning player of the year for the third region and to Coach Rod Drake for Coach of the year.
  15. I see no need to vote against you now. I just hope if Apollo is up toward the end of the game (when catholic usually decides to become a little more aggressive), they the don't fall into the "antics" that catholic has pulled in past games. Don't want to get a player thrown out and ruled ineligible for the state. The winner will need all hands on deck for that first round. You should seriously consider that Vegas trip. Good job as you have done all year!
  16. Sorry, but I have to step outside the box (rules) and state the obvious. Owensboro/Owensboro Catholic. They would be a formidable foe for anyone in 5A. Play the pass, they'll run, play the run, They'll pass. Size, speed and skill positions. Loaded, but the fans could not sit on the same side of the field. Practices might be better than some games. They might be able to sell tickets for the practices.:madman:
  17. Exactly. As I told PP92, as my son comes to the end of his high school career (next year); I hope that my words convey the love and emotion that his words have. Not just to his son but to the other kids. They might not be his kids but they know how he feels about them. There is no doubt about that. Truly an awesome post.:up:
  18. The foul was on number 5 in white? What did he do, hold his hand up too high? Maybe I didn't see it right.
  19. I hope that I am as eloquent when my son finishes his run next season. Your last line says it all. I couldn't say it any better.
  20. You have your final four, you going with the results you've posted earlier or have you seen something that has caused you to rethink?
  21. On the nose with the Catholic, Breck score. Great job. Quit your day job and go to Vegas for a couple of days. Might never have to work again.
  22. I wonder it they will keep Owensboro or Graves on the schedule or will they drop them like they dropped Bowling Green? What ever they do, I believe they'll have to play one of them. I think it will be a long time before you see as season like last year. It was a bit crazy to say the least. But I will take Owensboro's chances, if nothing else, it will make winning the district very important. No cakewalk once the playoffs start.
