Bowling Green doesn’t. The only time they did was for Tre Fant because they wanted him to practice returning punts before putting him as punt returner in a real varsity game. He did nothing else besides return punts.

My brain says Trinity 35-7, my heart says BG 21-20. I’m just hoping BG can compete and for no injuries.

Play calling for BG looks worlds better than it did earlier in the season.

I played from when I was only 6 up until my senior year. I played for one of the most successful programs in the state and started for what was arguably one, if not the best Bowling Green team ever. I was a junior during that 2016 season and I quit before my senior year started. It had nothing to do with my parents and they encouraged me to do what made me happy. I had played football for so long that I simply didn’t enjoy it anymore. I loved the bonds I made with my teammates and coaches, nearly all of my friends are from football. I had learned many valuable life lessons, but football had taken a mental toll on my life. I think many kids quit because of this reason. I think it’s perfectly fine to quit, but only if it’s because of injuries or mental health. Although, I would never support quitting mid season. I got a lot of ridicule for quitting, from coaches and players alike, but in the end they understood that I did what was best for me. I think that quitting is perfectly fine if it has hurt your physical or mental health, but quitting mid season or for no reason isn’t acceptable to me.

I hope it does too! I’m actually involved with the BG boys lacrosse team, most of the players are relatively new so a lot of the Louisville teams are miles ahead of us. But hopefully with the continued growth in the Warren County area we’ll catch up eventually. I’m sure the Warren county teams would love to play in a couple round robins, there aren’t many teams around here. The closest ones are Nashville and Etown.

I agree, the reason I actually started playing lacrosse in highschool is because one of my best friends was a hockey player for Owensboro Rampage, but lived in BG. The sports go hand in hand.

I’m not a supporter of NKY, but I am a supporter of any KY teams playing out of state teams. Keep the throttle down colonels!

I don’t really know any of the standout linemen in WKY, but I follow Bowling Green. Their O-line paired with their duo of running backs made huge holes against the SW defensive line, which is saying a lot about how well they’re playing. None of them stand out, but they play well together. Their D-line, Terrion Thompson really stands out. On the highlights for the BG-SW game it seemed he was blowing up the middle every single time.

I’m going X - 35 Manual - 17. I don’t really have much reasoning I just think X is really good when they play to their potential, and I like Wallace from my days playing under him!

I agree with seeding the playoffs, but this system needs some more work.

I don’t have all of the stats, but per BG Daily News here are the rushing stats: SW: Kobe Martin, 20 Carries, 76 yards BG: Javy Bunton, 16 Carries, 82 yards, 2 TD Jay’van Collins, 8 carries, 44 yards I was very impressed with the way BG was able to run the ball, especially down the stretch. The last drive of the game Collins has huge carries up the gut, carrying multiple defenders. Then to cap off the drive Bunton made a spectacular run breaking multiple tackles for a 27 yard touchdown. I believe SW had quite a bit of success running the ball most of the game, but it really hurt them not being able to throw it more than they did.

I agree with the play calling comment, I’ve been saying it since the Father Ryan game.

I think SW will have to have some success throwing the ball to win. Souths Oline is very good, but they can’t just run it down BG’s throat like they can most teams. BG’s Dline is also good and played pretty well against X. The secondary for BG has played pretty well, especially Preiskorn. He’s a ball hawk, and you virtually have to throw it away from Vito. It’s going to be a lot of pressure on the backup QB, but anything can happen.

I’m a big advocate on growing lacrosse in Kentucky and especially in the Warren County area. Greenwood has previously had a lacrosse team and they’re creating a girls team this year, which should mean a boys team to follow. With the growth of it in the area, South and BG have had some packed games and it seems to be really catching on in the area. The other county schools are taking notice and it seems that they’re hopping on the trend. Hopefully sanctioning will come in the near future. Bowling Green has been nothing but supportive of their lacrosse team and it has really allowed us to grow the team, they have stopped treating it like a club and treat it like any other sport. Although, I’m not sure about South Warrens school support, their coach Nick Peters has also done great things for the sport in this area. It may be a huge rivalry, but the way the community has come together to push the growth of lacrosse in the area is beautiful. Not only are the schools hopping on, the recreational league has nearly 40 kids playing. It seems to finally be catching on here and I can’t wait to see where it leads!

It looks better than most other state rankings I’ve seen. Obviously there are some flaws and things that I’d change, but it’s not too bad. Definitely looks better than the RPI rankings right now.

Game cancelled due to weather.

I’ve played under Coach Spader, and played with Vito for two years. The only two reasons I could see for this are, they’re saving him for district and playoffs, or they want him to focus on the position he’s most likely to play in college. I know most of the coaching staff well enough to say that politics and Bowling Green football don’t go together, there weren’t any when I was there and I doubt there are now. I still think he needs to play some offense especially in these big games and in the playoffs.
