Bowling Green still has never lost to a Warren County team three straight times.

Congrats to the Purples. The state's longest winning streak is no more.

 

A November date looms on the horizon. But for tonight, this has to feel good.

Great win for the Purples and much needed. Someone on here said Bowling Green wouldn't be able to run the ball. So I find it ironic that BG sealed the game on like a 20 yard bang bang run into the endzone. I don't know what the total yardage was, but BG had some success running the ball.

 

BG made this game much harder than it needed to be, The BG defense played outstanding the entire game. The Purples offense was horrible, absolutely horrible in the first half. BG forced three turnovers in the first quarter and got zero points, plus missed 3 FGs.

 

Offense improved a little in the second half thanks to a forced QB change due to injury. But it still really struggled. The offensive play calling was terrible. And it really hasn't be good all season. Whoever is running the offense has got some problems.

 

I will say I think BG is limited by their QBs. They are still inexperienced and may have a low ceiling on what they can do. The Purples running back situation is outstanding and deep.

 

Also glad to see the defense to get Tisdale involved. They put some blitz off the end packages in for him and it made a huge difference.

I agree with the play calling comment, I’ve been saying it since the Father Ryan game.

Congratulations BG I think if South has a chance to beat BG in the playoffs they need their QB to heal quickly.

I don’t have all of the stats, but per BG Daily News here are the rushing stats:

 

SW:

Kobe Martin, 20 Carries, 76 yards

 

BG:

Javy Bunton, 16 Carries, 82 yards, 2 TD

Jay’van Collins, 8 carries, 44 yards

 

I was very impressed with the way BG was able to run the ball, especially down the stretch. The last drive of the game Collins has huge carries up the gut, carrying multiple defenders. Then to cap off the drive Bunton made a spectacular run breaking multiple tackles for a 27 yard touchdown.

I believe SW had quite a bit of success running the ball most of the game, but it really hurt them not being able to throw it more than they did.
