  1. Game time in a few hours. Hope it stops raining soon. I'm just now drying out from the BC game.
  2. Impressive. I've been around a while and have never heard of anything like that. Congrats to the young man. I'm sure SI would love to have something like that in one of their issues. Good stuff.
  3. Thanks for the info. So far, I have been very impressed with our starting defense. They have handled every team that has come our way. The majority of scores against us have come from our 2nd and 3rd team defense. Not saying anything bad about them at all. We should be able to handle JC. Playing 4 qtrs is going to be something new, however. The last few games, we've been able to sub quit a bit. This will be interesting in having to play all 4 qtrs. I do think we are up to the task though. The fist game against them is big, however, the second one is what really counts.
  4. I know this isn't the thread to talk about this, but is Johnson Central that good? Does Ashland have a chance? What makes JC so good? I haven't seen them. If some one wants to start a thread about this, that's fine too.
  5. Maybe a couple of quarters, I'm not sure about 3… Just saying.
  6. It was ugly. Came in to tonight's game with 5 turnovers all season. Had 3 in the first half. Obviously weather played a big part of that. Had over 400 yards rushing, Baker over 200, Roberts over 130. 6-0, we'll take it.
  7. It was ugly. Ashland came in with 5 turnovers all season, had 3 in the first half. Had over 400 yrds rushing. Baker over 200, Roberts over 130. 6-0, that's all that maters.
  8. Sitting in the parking lot right now. Both sets of bleachers have plenty of space available.
  9. Game time soon. Wear some extra clothes, I get to use the new tomcat umbrella my wife bought. Hope I can find a dry seat.
  10. Glad to see Ky representing. Great job!
  11. I would love for Belfry (my mom's alma mater) to win, however, the Knights might have just too much fire power. Should be one heck of a game thought. I would love to be in attendance.
  12. I will be in attendance for this game. As ugly as it might be, I can't help but remember the time I spent on the field during this rivalry. And yes, there were some good games back when I played. The stands were always packed with rows of people standing around the field. I since the same atmosphere, with one side of the scoreboard a little lopsided. Ok, maybe a lot lopsided. Sorry Lion fans.
  13. Yes, however, they did have some good players to help the cause, to go along with some other fine coaches…
  14. I think a lot of them have gone to other sports such as bass fishing and archery. I believe that might be taking away from other sports as well. I'm in no way bashing either of those sports, I'm just glad to see kids involved in something, instead of doing nothing and getting into mischief. I just feel that Boyd might be spreading themselves too thin. I believe I've seen a number of freshman starting or getting a lot of reps on the varsity football team. Not to knock it, but a school that size should not have to play freshman, again, if they are the best player, yes, by all means, play them. JMO
  15. He used to coach against my little league baseball team… The Indians were good though...
  16. Tomcats all the way. The rivalry still isn't what it used to be. Boyd scores, but it won't be much. Ashland still works on expanding the offence. Dowdy and company get the job done early and often. Ashland 48 Boyd Co 20
  17. I had family obligations and wasn't able to attend. Listening was the best I could do. The 2nd and 8 turning into the 2nd and 2, Dicky and Mr. Runyon were talking about. When they changed sides of the field, the officials gave Ashland an extra 5 yards... They couldn't believe that they did that, they talked about it for a while.
  18. Love all the talk about ashland expanding the offensive stratigies. I would like to see the take a few shots down the field. The line is more than capable to hold blocks long enough to get a receiver open.
  19. No, however I did listen to the best radio announcer people love to hate. The first td Rowan scored, they marched it down the field, which did surprise me. The other two scores came with our 2s and 3s. I'm glad we were able to work on things a bit. The next two weeks are just a warm up for October 23rd. Keep working on the offense and sureing up the D over that time.
  20. Dowdy with over 100 yards passing. Baker got his, Roberts 9 yards shy of 100. Not a bad night working on the offense. 1-0 where it counts.
  21. I heard Bath's freshman qb is good. What's the word on him?
  22. Noah had some good runs of his own this game. He's a beast of an athlete.
  23. It looked as if Wheelersburg was going to run away with this one, out to a 20-0 late into the 2nd qtr. Ashland, however, came back to tie it up at 20 a piece late in the 3rd. Then, too many mistakes and turnovers cost them dearly. Ashland scored with about 30 seconds left in the game against what looked like their second unit to set the final score. The Coburn kid had a really good day running.
