What freshman players have impressed you so far this season?

1. Louisville (and surrounding area)

2. Lexington and Central KY

3. Northern KY

4. Eastern KY

5. Western KY

From NK I would say the freshman from Beechwood I think his name is Castleman is already a special player who will get even better as he goes through the rest of his high school career.

From the Western Ky area: Gavin Dickerson from Crittenden County. He plays LB.

Not very versed on Freshman around the State but can tell you Belfry's Justin Barker has the potential to be a special talent.

6'3 215 TE/DL

Actually pushed for significant varsity action on both sides of the ball. Has exceptional hands and ball skills for his age.

By the time he is a Junior expect him to have prototype size for a TE.

Paducah Tilghman has a kid who I cannot remember his name "Askew maybe?" that is a half brother to UK's JD Harmon and he is going to be a bad man in a few years. Played RB and is going to be a talent.

He is only in 8th Grade, but another Belfry name to remember is Peyton Hensley. He started as a 7th Grader on last year's Middle School State Champion team and excelled. This Belfry Middle School team may be the best Middle School Team in Kentucky regardless of class and Hensley is a star. Belfry has had some great FB talent, but hasn't had a HB people have looked forward to this much since Doug Howard.

In Northern Kentucky, there is the MaGinness (sp?) RB for Cov Cath and Tanner Lawrence DE for Campbell County. Both players always stand out when they are playing.

Jacob lacy 6'2 282 5flat 40 country strong SW .already plays both sides of the ball .doesnt start but plays a lot .out for two more weeks sprained MCL we will watch him on Saturday maybe Sunday's FREAK !also great kid very humble

That's south warren he op lays varsity only

Bath County has 2. RB/DB Landan Swartz is getting alot of varsity minutes and is in the top 5 on the team in tackles. TE/DE Austin Reed (6'6" 200) also is getting varsity action and will be a beast the next 3 seasons.

I heard Bath's freshman qb is good. What's the word on him?

Central KY. John Hardin has 2 nice freshman starting varsity. Isaac Keener-TE. 6'0 210 and Isiah Reed -DT 6'2 240. Both are going to be really good ball players. Gaining valuable experience playing the schedule JH is playing.

Yes. Attended the Manning Camp this year. Will get some varsity time next season. Possible starter.

I'm sure whats hurting some of the freshmen is playing time. The KHSAA enforced the new 8 quarter rule. So if a kid plays freshman (4 q) and JV (4q) they can not play Varsity. So do you keep a kid out a freshman game so they can get a couple plays of kickoff and punt? I'm sure there is a medical reason for this, just don't like it.
