They are a different team with him in the lineup. He ran all over us last year. We really need to respect this team. Take care of business, and minimize the mistakes. I hope we open up the offense a little more. I look for Dowdy to take another step forward tonight. I really like the way he's been playing. Let's remember, this is still Ironton. We need to go in to this game thinking they are 3-0, not 0-3. Respect is paramount in this game. We have continued to improve week to week. Dowdy has really taken control and stepped up during the Russell game. Very good play calling and tremendous defense will win this game for Ashland. Of course players will have to make the plays. Yikes! I knew ashland would win, but what a performance. And of course I was at the concession stand when Baker ran back the kick off. Line play was great. I really thought Dowdy solidified his position as the main man. He really took control. IMO. Russell did shoot themselves in the foot with fumbles and bad decision making. I hope the QB gets better soon. I did think Conley ran well at times, Ashland's defence really flexed their muscle tonight, really dominated. Let's get ready for the Tigers in a week. Congrats Cats.

Good win for the young Cats. They said it was a hard fought game. Supposedly LC had a brut of a running back (44). Ashland, however, countered with their own brut, Devante Robinson. He had a couple of big runs. Apparently they threw the ball too. Said we had two two point conversions thrown. One where the qb, Adkins had someone hanging on him when he threw it. So the young Cats are now 2-0. Contrats.

My thoughts are that Conley is going to get his numbers (however, somewhat limited by Ashland's run defense). Baker will be as explosive as ever. Ashland will get O'Brian more involved in the offense with our passing game. Yes, that's right, I did say passing game. The Tomcats pull this one out by at leas 14. I know Russell is a good team, I just don't see Ashland slowing down after an electric (no pun intended) game against GW. Ashland 28 Russell 14

I would like to know the last time ashland had two different qbs throw a touchdown. I'm not talking about a pitch to a back and let him throw it. I'm talking about two actual qbs. We were 3/8 passing.

Didn't get home till 1:30, and I live in south Ashland. I will guess that is the latest game ever at Putnam Stadium. Game was finished at 12:45.

When practice first began, it looks like Ashland wasn't going to have enough to field a freshman team. Talk was that they were just going to dress JV games. He said that they have around 20 freshman now. He did say that some Sophomores dressed last night.

I hate to hear that. If i'm playing, I want to play the best the other team has.

Said it looked like they had about 10-15 on the sideline. Not sure if they dressed 7th or 8th graders. He did say that Raceland had a lot of kids with good size.

Thought this was interesting. Talked to a buddy of mine and he said that 3 touchdowns were called back against Ashland. Could have gotten real ugly. Go young Cats.

He looked real jittery. One of his first throw was in int. Got sacked on numerous occasions. Was running for his life most of the night. Very poor line play. He did have a couple good runs. I think his longest run was 15 yards, maybe. Did settle down after a bit, had a couple of completions. Had a td pass called back on offensive pass interference. Dicky actually came on to the field to yell at the official. It was a poor call, in my opinion.

Ventured out to the Ashland, Raceland JV game. Raceland started out on fire, but Ashland crept with in a score late in the 4th. Raceland had two qb's that could really sling it.
