For the record, I'd love nothing more than to see Monroe County get to Bowling Green. Not having them in my picks isn't for a lack of pulling for them, I can assure you of that. :thumb: I'll eat crow, but since I'm actually pulling for them, maybe I can get a gourmet plate of it?

Mayfield over Danville. Butler, Monroe and Murray eliminated. Danville/NewCath Mayfield/DeSales. I give Mayfield the edge simply due to playing on their home turf

I hope the 30 minutes of Gridiron Glory this week is just of this game. I have a feeling the highlights from it could take up the entire episode.. Even still, I'm sticking with Caldwell pulling away in the 2nd half rather convincingly (2-3 TD's).

How is the support at Holmes for home games? I saw parts of their game vs. Lloyd, a 15 minute drive from Covington and counted maybe 20 people in the stands. Sad to see.

John Hardin takes this one and finishes this first 6 game gauntlet at 3-3 and a 2nd seed in Class 6A District 2 (a little fun there). Looking at their schedule before the season, I thought there was an outside chance of getting to 4-2 and they were close. A loss to PRP who has only lost to Trinity. South Warren who is dismantling everybody and a Central Hardin team who has lost to aforementioned South Warren and Boyle County. Not exactly three losses that should result in a lack of street red (speaking in general terms). They've played a loaded deck for sure.

Never said, that you said "they weren't very good on D." I pointed out that the held a team who had thrown for over 1K through 4 to under 100 passing and 0 points. Then pointed out that the same team also had over 700 yards on the ground & almost as many TD's. Offensively, North Hardin has and will cause issues for people, I don't care what their record is. South Warren hasn't and will not play a more "balanced" team (assuming your definition of "balance" is the all to overused 50/50 run-pass that most associate it with, the rest of the year) & they were never in the game. Which brings me back to my original point that it doesn't really matter what you do against South Warren, their D is just that good.

See my original post about North Hardin who had over 1,000 yards and 11 TD's through the air, who I failed to also mention had over 700 on the ground and 9 other TD's through 4 games. I get that there are some kind of fictional brownie points that seem to come along with pointing out a team has too much of a run dominated game on this site (because you very seldom, if ever hear about teams who can't run it a lick), but it doesn't matter. South Warren is just that good on D. Period.

I brought this up in the Giants-Cowboys thread from the other night, and was laughed at by some (which I welcome). Mike Pettine (HC of the Browns) was one that I brought up. It was North Penn HS in PA. It was MTV's more or less first take as a precursor to ''Two-A-Days'' that they did on Hoover a few years later. That series focused on Pettine and his father, who was the legendary coach at Central Buck's West. The two schools were rivals and the series built up to their game if memory serves me correct. College speaking there is Art Briles (Baylor), Chad Morris (SMU) to go along with Malzahn are all former high school football coaches. As I said the other night, if Tony Franklin and all of his great success in the collegiate level can go 1-10 in his last year as a high school football coach, if Mike DuBose (former SEC Champion Alabama HC) can go O'fer in a season as a high school football coach post-Bama, then there are numerous other high school football coaches out there across the country who could go onto be HFC's in the major college and NFL ranks.

Campbellsville is the favorite as they should be. Those of you Campbellsville fans need to pick what side of the fence you want to be on. Want to be considered elite in Class A? Accept being the favorite in this game vs. Green County. Want to be "Oh gee, golly shucks we are just trying to win some games"? That's fine, but quit getting your feathers ruffled when people don't take you seriously as a contender. You can't have it both ways.

I completely apologize how that came out. After reading it, I can see where one could take offense. It was a bit short, blunt and to the point. Knowing Danville, they live and die for the most part playing out of their 50 (or 3-4, however you want to look at it) look; much like Belfry does. They'll screw down to a Cover 3 look out of it with their Strong Safety & with their speed, it can very much look like all 8 of those guys are up there on the LOS after the snap. My original post wasn't meant to sound patronizing. When I read "8 guys at the Line of Scrimmage" I thought, "Danville? Against Corbin's spread No. Now if that was Rock & how they play 'sick'em' against what virtually seems like everything? Then yes. :lol2:" Again, my apologies to you in how that came out. :thumb:
