Any word if M Mayer will dress varsity this year? Sounds like JV game was a good one. Who are the 2-3 leading players for JV so far?

Hall v. Miller, very good point guard match up. If Newport gets a double figure scoring game from one of their bigs, they will prevail.

Last year the Moeller PG was the best player on the floor. He got the better of young Ruthsatz. I'm not sure his name or whether he's still the man. Moeller (per typical GCL) held the ball & controlled tempo. Hoping the Colonels flip the script tonight!

Also should have mentioned Anthony Harmon made quite a few hustle plays to help the Wildcats.

Good match up last night. Ethan Haynes (Boone) & Burress (Newport) put on a good show. Young Newport guards added more experience in a tight game situation. Fell behind multiple times in this one, hung their heads a little, but came out of each timeout with new energy. PG Donnie Miller struggled for 3 quarters, but was a difference maker in the 4th.

Sophomore Tahj Harden was impressive in the win. If they can get production from a Big like him throughout the year, they will be tough. Their young guard trio (#1, #2, #4) will for sure improve as they get more experience & stronger. Each can shoot it & get to the lane off the bounce.

Newport JV also with the win 58-56 after being down 10 at half. Fun game. Good effort by both teams.

Hope all works out well for him. Would have been nice to see him follow Landon Young a couple blocks over to Commonwealth Stadium. Will be interesting to see how both pan out. NFL futures I would imagine.

Might be a possibility, but I'm thinking CCH/Lex Cath may be sold out.

My wife just bought me a large sized wood cutting board. I've been cooking with the same small (8" x 14") hard plastic one for 20+ years. How did I not ever realize there was better.

For example. . . Nov.30th. Son's first game as JV head coach (Newport), or CCH v. LexCath.

Gonna be some tough decisions for me. JV head coach son at Newport. or 6 Pius boys I coached playing for my Alma Mater.

I wonder if they'll set up a game CCH v. St.Anthony

Agree with this as well. I'm just selfish & like seeing KY kids that can play get some time at UK. Hopefully he ends up where its best for HIM.

Agree. I think he could step in Hawkins role & probably end up better than Dom.

Did Mayer & Huddleston have much contact with each other? If so, probably still not as much as they exchanged on the basketball court over the past 3 years. Two good athletes very familiar with one another.

I had heard it didnt work out at Hargraves & he was coming back, but was told last night he didnt come back. Oops

Looks like their best shot ever to get out of that incredibly tough district. Tre King & Kyle Rode will be tough! Do they have a PG that can break down their tough district opponents off the dribble. They'll go as far as their ball handling can take them.
