Be fun to watch coaches select officials today. 1 hour games anticipated.

What a schedule....Get all 1st round games done in 1 day. But it also appears the late Thursday/Friday teams would be at a rest disadvantage.

I would pay money to see that

Would be nice if they would bring back the consolation game, just for another game to watch.

If you got a book of reserved seats, it would have cost you a grand total of $7.25. Probably $7.50 with surcharge, and maybe 50 cents to park (did they charge for parking back then?).

Yea they charged to tie your horse up and a small few for hay..

Here's another Courier-Journal article, published two days after the one above. The Sweet 16 pairings were listed in the bottom lefthand corner of the page.

I find it fascinating to look at these old clippings. In the 9th it appears Dayton was playing Hamilton? Who is that?

From Wikipedia:

Hamilton is an unincorporated community in Boone County, Kentucky, United States. It is situated at Latitude 38.88333, Longitude -84.78167, in the southern part of the county on the Ohio River; it is about a mile north of the mouth of Big Bone Creek. It was established in 1835, being incorporated by the Kentucky Legislature as the Town of Landing.

You will notice that there are no County high schools listed in any of the regions. This was before the creation of County boards of education, so each town had its own school. Once the County boards of education were created, most of the city schools were merged into the County High School. Cities of a certain size were exempt, so many of them were not merged into the County High School but instead remained independent. Many continue to be independent today.

I think I have a program from the 1941 state tournament at home. I will look tonight and see how sending a picture.
