I think state teams are better than Louisville teams at this point. Believe me - that's not an easy thing to admit for a 7th region fan like me. In fact, I don't even think it's close. It's just a very mediocre year for teams in the 6th and 7th regions.

Can't buy Manual as the third best team in region. They've played to their competition- scrappy doesn't make them any better than Ballard- who beat them or Waggener - who was missing one of their starters when they played.

KOB will tell the tale for TC. They proved they were sweet 16 worthy last year- this may be different. Central has some size who may cause them problems.

Ballards record of producing seniors who have received scholarships to play basketball from 44 graduating classes now stands at 99. Not all D-1... But impressive regardless.

This team will be fine despite the departure of the guard who transferred to Findlay. They have the luxury of having a couple of players who have been playing AAU ball together since the fifth grade. (Kratholm and Hill) Their other big (Kirby) will be fine once he gets in bball shape. I don't think there is a bigger team in the state than Waggener and I got to see Hill and Kratholm dominate games this past summer. The guards that are still with the program are adequate. I can't imagine how good they would've been had the team that they had when they were freshmen were still intact. This post surprises me somewhat- this teams gonna jump up and open a can on some folks this year.
