Sorry but I heard all this on this board prior to the championship game. You know..."Ryle can defend the pass, but they haven't needed to" and "Ryle can pass but they won't need to". But in the final analysis it was one of the worst beatings in 4A history on a night when the weather was a gift for the "more physical, smash mouth" team from Ryle. Did Ryle manage a first down in the first half? The fact is I saw the teams I'm posting about and I saw Ryle. IMO Ryle would fall a notch below the other teams from Louisville. Not last place but in the bottom half. Have you seen any of the teams we are talking about? If not, I don't see how you can make much of an argument.

I attended the Mercer/Russell game last year (sure was cold). I would say that first Mercer needs to learn to pass and defend the pass to compete in 5A. If not they won't advance too far in the playoffs. They also had some pretty good speed (little guys but fast). They need to replace that speed and add more IMO to compete in 5A. JMO, of course.

All of the teams you dismiss were much faster than Ryle. You are correct in stating that Ryle would have had more success against them than they (Ryle) did against Trinity. However, Ryle probably would have had a difficult time stopping Ballard, Eastern, etc. from scoring as well. Most of the teams in Louisville 4A can pass the ball pretty well. Ryle had little or no ability to stop the pass. The Raiders would find it pretty rough going week to week in Louisville. JMO.

Check the facts. Most of those teams you dismiss gave Trinity a much better game. The district would have ended up Trinity, Ballard, Eastern and then FC, Shelby and Ryle in a toss-up for 4th, 5th and 6th. Ryle had the worst offense Trinity played all year. I've got a copy of the tape if you would like to review it.

I always liked when he lined up in the backfield in the I. This was done a number of times late in his senior year. Whenever you saw him back there you knew he was getting the ball and something fun was fixin' to happen.

Green played D-line for the Buckeyes.

Ryle would finished fourth or fifth in Trinity's district. The same would be true if they played in Male's district as well.

Jones was senior on the 2000 team. Barclay was a senior on the 2001 team.

I think Male will be a little down next year. They are a team that usually makes a run with a star player. I don't know who that might be next year. Maybe Heyman will become an offensive star. Does Male play X next year?

State Semis? Conner went undefeated in 03 and 04 losing to Shelby in round one in 03 and to Boone in round two in 04.

This same thing happened to Trinity a few years ago. They had to cancel a couple of games at the end of the season.

Trinity wins a big game to go undefeated at home. The Rocks were led by Sam Robey with 19 points. I don't recall the exact score but it was about a 6 or 8 point margin. Great win for the Rocks on senior night.

I thought maybe they changed the requirements for a game to be counted as official.:lol:

I wonder what effect all this will have on FC's freshman phenom QB? Will he be looking for a new home? It would have to be a school that would take advantage of his potential. A school where he could compete at the highest level. Any schools come to mind?

That is a pretty good price. The last one I bought was over $400 and that was back in 2002.

The QB is a junior.

I would think that HC would take a step backwards after losing some talented kids. Inside sources on this site claim that HC will be even better in 2007. I think they return their O-line and QB. I also think they return most of their defense. I think they have a huge hole to fill with the departure of Minniefield.

There was a lot of discussion on this site about Petrino/Ammons, which one was better? I guess the coaching staff at Georgetown will get to decide. Good luck to both kids.
