If football season is over for you, what are you doing here? I'm surprised you found the time to check in with all those National Merit Scholar preparations to be done. As the father of a National Merit Scholar I'm sure we would have plenty to discuss, but I'm not so sure anyone would pony up $15 a year to join us. The obsession comment is rich. How many X men have posted ad nauseam about the future and behavior of Bob Beatty over the past few years? I was just wondering if any X-men were getting tired of finishing second or worse? Why does that hit a nerve? Either its OK with you or its not. I guess you are OK with it. Lets hear from the rest of the X faithful. I'd say that stadiums don't win ballgames. Trinity dominated as you said during a period when their stadium was less than optimum. For decades the X faithful bragged about playing Historic Manual Stadium, the finest high school venue in Louisville. Now we find that it was holding the Tigers back.:lol: I think if you look at the history of the rivalry, its much more about coaching than facilities. Recently Lampley ruled Glaser, Glaser held sway over Servino and now Beatty owns Glaser. Your move.

I think its pretty obvious that Coach Beatty will be back to persue #18 next season. As for Coach Glaser?

PRP? X? (FYI the Rocks defeated the Tigers this year) and the Rocks beat Male at Male. I don't see a very valid arguement here. Henrey Clay was better than any team X faced in the playoffs except Male. They were close to Male in athletic ability. The fact is Trinity is dominating X (and Male since Beatty's arrival) and i don't see an end in sight. I am asking do you? and why? I'm not interested in your what ifs and should haves (we will leave those to your head man), I'm interested in knowing if X is going to make changes or stay the course?

Why the laughter. Has the Tiger clan embraced the role of second among the Big Three with Male breathing down their neck. If fact, since Coach Beatty arrived its been the Big One and the other two. One for X, one for Male and five for Trinity. Sounds pretty lop-sided to me. I'm serious, I've heard a lot of grumbling starting back in December. After the Rocks defeated a Male team that pasted X 33-7 the talk got louder and louder. I would think that X will have a pretty big shake-up in the make-up of their coaching staff.

Ditto for Trinity and X kids with DeSales and Holy Cross kids. I can't see much interest in those games on either side. I guess I just don't get NKY football.

What class will NCC be next year? Won't Highlands be in 5A? If NCC is still a 1A school, why would this game be attractive to Highlands? I'm sure Male doesn't have any interest in playing Louisville Holy Cross or Christian Academy.

I couldn't agree more. I see teams in 7 on 7 throwing 5 yard passes waist high across the middle to keep a drive alive. In football, that area tends to be a little crowded with larger than average guys. If you participate in 7 on 7 to enhance timing, great. If you treat it as a game, not so much. Trinity was defeated by Shelby County at UofL's 7 on 7. In football, I think the score was 38-7 Rocks. Go figure.

What makes you think they could pass if they wanted to? A number of teams crash and burn with this kind of thinking.I was at the game. Russell was doing a pretty good job of defending the run against Mercer in the Titans closest game of the year. If they could have passed, they surely would have in this game. Balance is the answer, I just don't understand why people resist it.

The Rocks hosted CovCath at Trinity in 7 on 7. The Rocks defeated them quite handily. Most in attendance agreed that while CovCath had a couple of outstanding receivers, the Rocks had many more weapons. I think the Rocks win the QB matchup as well. What "passing league" are you talking about?

I guess we can put this subject to rest. Look for Bob on the Trinity sideline again next year.:thumb:

BG will be Trinity's second game. It will be played at Marshall Stadium on the campus of Trinity High School. It is Trinity's home opener.:thumb:

With the Rocks winning their 5th title in 7 years while the Tigers have managed only 1. I ask what now Tigers? The Rocks started 9 underclassmen on this year's title team so I'm thinking they will have a better than average chance at a second three-peat in the Beatty era. We heard a lot of talk (via threads) about additions to the X coaching staff prior to last year. How did that work out? Coach Glaser announced that 06 was the fastest group of skill kids he has ever coached, are any of those kids returning? I've heard great things about the "legendary" Coach Jamie Brown, now I understand he is moving on to greener pastures. How bad will his loss hurt X next year? Finally, has the game passed Coach Glaser by? Is it time for him to step down? A few years ago these pages were alive with posts ending with "tic-toc, tic-toc". The message being that the pendulum swings back and forth between T and X. We have a pretty dysfunctional pendulum these days. Your thoughts.

Dixie Heights, NKY 4A's "one-hit-wonder". I've never seen a team get so much mileage out of one playoff upset. BTW, how did that season turn out for ya?

I really don't think those IFS would have changed the outcome. If the pass is caught its still an IF that he scores.Ryle's offense failed to get anything going. Their defense was beaten badly on a number of match-ups. If there ever was a team that didn't look "ready to play", it was the Raiders. The Raiders had a number of other chances to throw the ball, they turned out to less than perfectly thrown. My advice to NKY 4A is to understand that their first enemy in right in their own backyard. You must raise above the 3As and 1As. That is job one. Only then will you be on your way to winning 4A (6A now). Another thing, learn to pass and defend the pass. Good luck.

Sorry but when the football finals were in Lexington last the low attendance was one of the reasons for moving it back to Louisville.

Settle down brother. I'm sure there are plenty of kids on Ryle's team that are every bit as talented as the Rocks. I saw a number of kids that I would be proud to cheer for. It aint always about the talent.
