  1. As an athlete at a high profile school his actions are in the public domain.
  2. How can he be on scholarship? He isn't enrolled in school. That being said he has to eat and sleep under a roof. I wonder who is paying for this since he chooses to live away from home in Lexington. I also wonder if he is allowed to work out with the team if isn't in school? I doubt it. If you think I am the only that is going to ask these questions you aren't familiar with UK's NCAA history or the media in Lexington.
  3. Maybe Hynes should transfer to Trinity, sit out his sophmore year, lift weights, get stronger, learn the system and play as a junior and senior. Sounds like a good move for the kid and the Rocks. He would be a "Mr. Football" canidate in Trinity's system. JMO.
  4. He is living in Lexington and working out? Does he have to support himself during this period? Does he have to work-out away privately? What kind of contact can he have with the team and coaching staff until he returns to school? Is he working in Lexington to pay the rent etc.?
  5. Who was #99? I thought he was the best player on Ryle's team. Is he going on to play football in college?
  6. I agree, but no crime was commited according to Fitzgerald's investigation. Both were stupid to do what they did and will pay a price. My problem is with the whole special prosecutor and their track record. During the Clinton debacle Star was accused of "setting a perjury trap for Clinton and members of his team". I think that was the case then and its the case now. I think the prosecutor ought to admit if he can't make his original case and back off. You don't see too many cases of citzens being charged with lying about their whereabouts when they don't get charged with the crime that initiated the inquiry. I think this cavalier charging of underlings weakens the law rather than strengthens it. Listen to all the people that claim that "Clinton did it" and I'm sure that once Libby is cleared or pardoned he will be referenced in the same manner.
  7. Define "stael elections". They had some operatives trying to gather embarrassing info on supporters of opponents. This same job is now handled by the media due to the internet and 24 hour cable news. In retrospect, it really wasn't some monumental thing. Then as now the real fun started when the people involved had to testify. I always thought that Nixon was brought down by his own hubris. The need to record everything and thinking that he was above the law. Clinton had a similar MO, although he was better at being sneaky. Clinton should have just stuck with its a personal issue and none of your business. I think we have now seen that "special prosecutor" law that Watergate gave birth to has become a problem. Lawyers don't like to come up empty handed. In the Libby case as well as Clinton they couldn't make any charges stick so they settled for lying. The prosecutors (both Star and Fitzgerald) should have had the sense to drop the case. But as we have all seen in the "Duke LaCrosse" case, prosecutors are politicians first and foremost. JMO.
  8. If there is any such code about parking/seating capacity, Trinity must be in violation.
  9. The visitor stands at Marshall are as new as the home stands. The old home stands could not be used because they didn't meet code.
  10. You answered your own question. Its because it falls short of the limit. FYI, people choose to follow the rules on this site in order to be a member. There are many sites with more relaxed standards. Try pointing out to your students the flaws in such shows. I used to complain to my kids that the Simpsons was a degenerate show. They continued to watch but I think they questioned some of the premises of the show. Just last year my daughter (a 4th year Politics and Government student at UVA) wrote an excellent paper about the effects of "The Simpsons" on the decline of the American family. Fight the good fight and hope to win enough battles to eventually win the war.
  11. So the solution is...? The part about parents not monitoring this stuff says it all. It is free speech, I'm not always happy with the results but the alternative is worse. I would rather have my kids watch "South Park" than "The View" or "Bill Maher". JMO.
  12. The Cards got a break from the clock operator too.:sssh:
  13. Dwight "Bo" Lamar for the USL Ragin' Cajuns was a heck of a player.
  14. I said Johnson brothers, not the Brothers Johnson.
  15. No, he isn't even in the top ten all time SEC shooters. Off the top of my head. Pistol (far and away the best ever) Austin Carr (averaged 34 a game while Pistol averaged 44) Rick Mount Larry Bird Dan Issel Oscar Robertson Glen Rice Dave Bing Rick Barry (extra credit for the sons) Chris Jackson
  16. I realize that these posts are jokes intended to make fun of the Tubby bashing but.... take a minute to compare Duke prior to Coach K and UK prior to Tubby. Any more questions or comments?
  17. Cats keep rolling all the way to the final... then? Who knows anything can happen.
  18. I happen to disagree with the supreme court ruling that allowed the Paula Jones charges to continue while President Clinton was in office. I know that some will claim that no one is above the law but I think that case should have waited until Clinton left office. It turns out that history proves me right. President Clinton was distracted from doing his job (the most important job in the world) to answer charges that would not have changed if they had been delayed. He was guilty of lying about the incident but never charged with the actual incident. I know its wrong and a crime, but anyone other than lawyers and judges usually scratch their heads over these charges.
  19. Pretty down news for a team that finished the season on the up-swing. What is up with the Johnson brothers?
  20. As the son of an immigrant I guess I'm qualified to respond on this issue. I don't know that an immigrant should be required to speak english to be admitted to this country. I think it should be a requirement for citizenship. I also think that in cases other than asylum an immigrant should be made to prove that he/she will provide some benefit to the United States.
  21. I think WVU will be a bump in the road for UofL. I think WVU wins this game then UofL regroups and has a pretty good run in the NCAA, maybe as far as the Elite Eight. WVU 72 UofL 60
  22. I think they make the final, and once that happens anything goes.
  23. The funny thing is that this "rivalry" is one sided. The Dookies could care less about UK. Or anybody outside the ACC for that matter. I'm not a Duke fan, but I respect their program as one of the best in the country.
