  1. I play golf several times a week on local municipal courses. I see a great many young high school golfers playing these same courses. Kids can play for next to nothing so your argument doesn't hold water. These courses have turned out some of the best young golfers in Louisville.
  2. Sorry my friend, but as a father of a kid that owns some of that jewelry I must correct you. My son went to Trinity for a lot more than football. He turned out to be a marginal player, but a fine young man. I asked him recently if he missed some things about his high school days, he said yes but football didn't even pop up in the top ten. He was proud of his efforts on the grid iron though and felt every bit as much a champion as anyone else on the team and for good reason. Maybe he didn't "contribute" in your book, but at schools like Trinity and St.X evry kids efforts are appreciated and welcomed. And since they seem to win their share of titles maybe you should try it their way.
  3. Your example is shameful and probably represents the feelings of a number of losing programs. The kid you mentioned was a part of the team. He practiced with the team and was ready if called on. This attitude is taught at schools like Trinity and X, and is a big part of their success. I would suggest that instead of trying to eliminate the competition, try to emulate the competition. Also, if you are aware of any recruiting being done by any school please report it. If not, please don't bring your rumors and innuendo to this board.
  4. Look on the bright side, maybe the Birds will move up after they lose to X.
  5. The fact is you CAN'T go to any school you want. Kids reside in districts and they go to their district school unless they want to participate in a program that doesn't exist at their school. If you don't believe me just try to enroll your child at the school of your choice after the 8th grade. On a lighter note, you and your spouse seem to be doing your part in increasing the pool of talent in Graves County. Keep up the good work.
  6. Whats great? How about 14 championships since 1968? How about 50 straight wins? Why all the hate?
  7. One should select a username that is perfect, like LSURock. Then, no change would be needed.
  8. New development: I have heard that Trinity now has the ability to put computer generated players into the game films that they trade with their opponents. It is done in their state of the art multi-million dollar film studio. Imagine the shock of future opponents when they see Warren Sapp running wild on defense or Brohm completeing passes to Randy Moss.
  9. By using the phrase "one of the exceptions" it seems that, in general, to play in Ohio you must meet one of the multiple exceptions.
  10. I'm always suspicious of anyone claiming to "speak the truth" when expressing their opinion. I prefer to deal with facts. If you want to talk about "truth" consult your clergyman. Anger? you give yourself way too much credit. I really don't care where you coach. Bad joke, I guess. I do think it is interesting that there are not any winning coachs posting on this site. I guess they are too busy coaching, teaching, talking to the media etc.
  11. Inquiring minds want to know. What team do you coach? How bad did Trinity beat you?
  12. TheMan, You still have not answered the question about early Trinity. How did they manage to win in the early days when they were so small that they feared extinction?
  13. I hope everyone has had a chance to drive down Shelbyville Road and see the new "BACK TO BACK" flag hanging at Trinity. I wonder if the flag will say "BACK TO BACK TO BACK" or "THREEPEAT" next year?
  14. Wow, TheMan comes out of exile to announce that St. x and Trinity have more boys than the other 4A schools. Whats next, I can hardly wait.
  15. I'll take a packed house at Trinity any day. I have seen a rendering of the future stadium and it is awesome. A state of the art field with stands seating 10,000 fans on campus and the defending 4A champs. You can't get any better than that. Go Rocks Go!!!
  16. First, don't be satisfied with knocking off a ranked team in the first round. Meade was so high about knocking off x, they forgot to show up to play Male. Next, win a few championships and people will take you seriously. With all due respect to your "just have to have a heart" comment. Thats an insult to every team that has been defeated by a better team. Are you saying that all the teams that Trinity has defeated over the past year don't have heart? Was last year's loss to Male just a matter of "heart"?
  17. I agree. The past couple of years all we heard about was "Smash Mouth" football in Lexington. Tates Creek brought a big "Smash Mouth" sign for their team to run through like it was their homecoming game. Final, Trinity 50- "Smash Mouth" 0.
  18. All Louisville finals are the best attended games of the playoffs. Therefore I would guess that they produce the biggest payday. I really don't understand your previous rant. I think this thread was started to compare Louisville vs. Lexington football success. It is hard for me to believe that anyone could think that Lexington is anywhere near Louisville in football success. It is a fact, deal with it.
  19. Please explain."too much talent" compared to what?
