  1. Note that I wasn't even commenting on anything about Trinity. I was commenting on another district that contains Male, Manual and X. I stated my opinion based on what I've seen. Not being biased at all, I don't care for any of these teams. I also stated that all three backs were "outstanding". If I were voting, I'd vote for Beaumont (who I think is the most outstanding), Horton (who does more with less and is in his senior season) and Vic (a tremendous amount of talent) in that order. Sorry, TD but you and your buddy Ox can't win them all.
  2. Doesn't seem to matter much. St. X is homeless and they have managed to win a few state titles.
  3. Typical X-ite. I would bet I've seen a lot more of your district than you have seen ours and yet you claim to be an expert on many occasions. I view a lot of high school football in general as often as I can. In another post I saw the merit of voting KJ ahead of Nick for district POY, KJ doesn't have Nicks numbers but he also doesn't have Nick's supporting cast, coaching staff etc. Like I said in my post, Vic may be the best back in the state but I was impressed with the job that Horton does in many facets for Manual. Sorry you don't agree. I will take issue with your assessment of Vic vs. Beaumont. If Glasser asked Vic to do what Doug Beaumont has done for Male over the past three years it is very possible that Vic might not even be around by now. Check it out, Beaumont never comes off the field. He not only returns kicks, he is on the kick off team. Beaumont is "mini-mike". Not to mention he is playing very solid defense.
  4. From what I've seen of your district I'd have to vote Horton and Beaumont 1st team. I realize that Vic may be the best back in the state but due to injuries and other health issues he doesn't carry the load that these two do. JMO so don't fly off the handle.
  5. I think Luke "Elvis" McDermott has 16 sacks and counting.
  6. If this award is given as a MVP award then KJ should win. You are right, Fern Creek is a good team with him but they really struggle without him.
  7. No surprise in this game. Ryle has won one playoff game that I can ever remember. A home win over Ballard followed by yet another blowout loss to the Rocks. So this game was business as usual. Until Ryle steps up and does something in the playoffs, when it really counts, they will continue to be doubted.
  8. I suggested something similar on another thread. What would be the 16th school in 5A? I really think they should require a minimum number of students to be in 5A, maybe 1,600 or 1,700. If that means there aren't 32 teams in 5A so be it.
  9. Did you guys get lost on your way over to Yappi ?
  10. Certainly anything can happen. But... I would rather not put it to a test if we don't need to. A title is a title no matter who you defeat in the final. There is also the added bonus of not dealing with the fallout of another T/X final among the public/private crowd.
  11. Forget what I've said in the past on this subject. The team I want to see my team beat more than any other right now is Fern Creek.
  12. I think the Tigers win...Again. But, I would like to see the Crimsons shock the world and knock off X...Finally.
  13. I have no problem with 5A. Adding 6A may be a little much. For 5A take any school with an enrollment of a certain number, say 1,600, and above. If thats 8 schools (I don't really know I'm just making a point) so be it. Then 5A may only have two 4 team regions. The rest of the dates would be open to schedule other opponents from within or outside Kentucky. You may even add a twist by letting smaller petition to be in 5A for a minimum of three years. I really don't think anyone would do it, but it would be an interesting concept. In Jefferson County the 5A teams would be: St. X Trinity Ballard Manual Butler Male PRP Seneca
  14. If this game were at Central I might pick the Jackets in an upset. But, it is being played at Boyle. That is worth a TD or two at playoff time. Boyle- 28 Central-13
  15. How interesting. Bob Beatty may be the only coach in Kentucky with winning record against X. I'm quite sure, while he is a very good coach, Coach Wolfe does not now and probably won't in the future have a winning record against X. Good luck to Manual's Coach Nichols who is looking for his first win against the Tigers, something Coach Beatty accomplished in his first season at Trinity with an underdog team against the defending champion Tigers. While we are talking about Rumors, who is the favorite to replace Joe Nichols?
  16. I don't really think it is a matter of improving since then, it was more a case of terrible weather and poor field conditions. In 02' the Rocks played Ballard on a similar night, Brohm had his only pick of the year but Elbert ran for 250 yards. A good team does what it has to do to get the W.
  17. I'd suggest you wait a week and repost this thread. You'll have a better chance of being a fortune teller.
  18. No, the official numbers are the ones I shared with you from the JCPS data. These are the real numbers that the school legally claims. Your numbers from the athletic office could be way off because there is no effect if they are. I'll stick with my numbers, thanks anyway. I'd like to move on to the game. Manual can win, but I'm afraid they won't. It will take more than Manual's best effort. The Crimson coaching staff should lay it all on the line and take some risks. I mean ALL IN, ROLL THE DICE, CHANCE OF LIFETIME, THROW CAUTION TO THE WIND RISKS. If they pull it off, they have secured their place in Manual history. If it flops, well not may people give them much chance anyway. C'mon Coach Nichols, lets see some innovation Friday night.
  19. Not really interested in last years KHSAA's numbers, I've got this years JCPS's numbers. FYI, X has inched back past Trinity this year. Thanks anyway.
  20. If the playoffs started in 1959, what are the playoff games you reference dating back t 1950? How many does Highlands have officially since the playoffs began in 1959?
  21. You forgot about the steel balls rotating in my hand while I recalled the strawberry incident. Thats when I knew I had them.
  22. Sorry Charlie but no sale. There is no official data on that web site. That thing is maintained by the folks at Manual. The thing I'm looking at has all kinds of official language on it. I am impressed with the fact that Manual has the lowest free lunch participation in the city, only 11.8%. You also had the lowest number of suspensions, 32. Wonder why your site skipped over all this stuff? Maybe because its basically a marketing piece, you know the one you guys said didn't exist over on the public/private forum.
  23. If you guys are so sure the numbers are incorrect, maybe we should refer your names to the Attorney General for possible testimony in the fraud case against the JCPS. I can only assume that JCPS is filing bogus numbers with the government in an effort to recieve illegal reimbursement. This could be a blockbuster for the CJ, and just think the Ram brothers could be the "Deep Throat" that brings down this whole scam.
