We thought Lexington Catholic had a bunch of injured players. From what I have seen and heard, Mercer Co is just plague with season ending or long term injuries on their roster. Lex Cath with enough offense 49-14.

The whole Northern part of the state... In including myself from Central KY.

Off the subject here but just wondering if you have any insight on this topic. Do you know if Lexington Catholic or Fayette County schools will still honor that silly contract that Fayette County made them signed and agreed to? Do you which one Im talking about? If not anyone on his post know?

Not a fan of either team. I just watch game film. And from the films that I watch, Anderson is better. I have seen Mercer Co on tape, at WKU this seaon and last and on the last 4 season. Hope they get healthy in time for their district and hope they make noise again like they did vs Boyle Co last year's playoff.

I understand that Lex Catholic have ran the spead system for years, but I don't think they have ran the READ OPTION till season. If I was an opposing team D-coordinator and see that it's a read option, would all do respect to Ryan, he will not keep that ball. He will end up giving it too Jones. and just key on Jones. Ryan is too valuable to be running around and keeping that ball. Luckily enough Jones is a great back that he gains positive yards. Now if Thompson becomes the QB for next season, READ OPTION will be the offense for him. Well all know that he is a quick/ fast runner to keep the ball or read and hand it off to Jones. So an opposing D- Coordinator, I have to preps for more option rather than just key of the RB. Have a good game tonight Knights.

Does Pikeville have a answer to those 2 bookend D- tackle for Belfry?

Anderson Co showed last weekend that they can hang and be as tough as a good Boyle Co team. Which shows me that they have enough horses to win big this game. Bearcats 35-7

I follow Knights athletics and I must say I am not a believer of the system. I just do not think that Lex Catholic have the athletes to run that kind of fast pace offense. RB is good but we have to develope those wideout into a more explosive players. Hatton/ Thompson are a good possesion receivers, but they have to get some help from the others. Too many drops, drop that are TD's. Knights can not afford those come district play. And get healthy fast.

Lets just say they are 15-16 yrs old. Just imagine what their physique would be like in 2 years at the age of 18? Eat right and keep lifting those weights young men.

I believe so too. last week there was an article written here in Lexington calling for Lafayette to be the best in the city. I begg to differ after what Bryan St. did to Lex Catholic. Station is the best team this season.

That is impressive, also impressive is that Dunbar was able to score 35 pts. Does MS have any kind of defense?

Don't know much what Madison Central have this season... But we all know that Lex Catholic needs to heal up quickly before the start of their district play. I am sure the coaching staff and players do not like to use excuses, " FIND A WAY ". and find they will. You all have to recognize that the Knights have lost to a 3X defending 5A Bowling Grn, 6A Lafayette who also nearly beat Scott Co and 6A Bryan St. who has great athletes. No shame to loose to those team, but I do find disturbing is that the game vs Bryan St. Lex Catholic showed no heart. O-line were getting whoop around, D- line were getting blasted backwards, receivers were dropping balls and appears to be scared to get hit. I got to give it to Jones, A Thompson and even Balcherack, those 3 played well under the circumstances. Get a win this week and all those wounds will heel up quickly. Do we know the status of # 6 and # 56?

YES! According to the local news in Lexington, they are the BEST team in the city. A city with somewhat a down season with the exception of perhaps Henry Clay. With Simon Kenton, Conner, a tough Campbell Co and of course Scott Co. It will be tough for the Genrals to advance deep in the playoffs.

Knights must eliminate penalties and turnover to win. Ryan must bring his A- game and those receivers must help out as well by cathing the balls. Too many drops. Station has ton of speed, might be too much for the Knights to handle.

Lexington Catholic has never had a top tier defense as a group. They have won in recent years by scoring a ton of points. So to say defense is an issue... thats every year. With that said, IMO they will have a 7-3 or 6-4 season and perhaps still make it in the state semi game vs Cov Cath or FT Highlands.

Now lets get back to the topic of this game. Lafayette wins, but does Boone Co. have a running game? Generals have shown that they have a very difficult time stopping the running game which showed against Lex Cath and Scott Co, actually all their games including the scrimmage .... So IMO if Boone does not have a run game. Lafayette huge going away.

It was just another game or just a game in the eyes of many Lexington Cath fans. Not sure which fans you talked to. Dejected? Sure, who wouldnt be after loosing a lead, bitten by the turnovers and dumb penalties. Of course anyone whould be dejected with a performance like that.

You misunderstood my point too. All I ask was the enrollment of these schools. And as far as defending the private schools??? There is nothing to defend. There will never be a split between private and public in the state of KY. Not enough private schools and the 2 big schools in Louisville are to big to compete with the smaller ones ie DeSale, CAL, Lex Cath, New Cath, Lex Christian and so forth.

WHOA look at that! An upset huh? It's a rivalry game, I guess it can go either way. Bad bounces here and there could play a part.

Looks like they are an equivalent to a Shawnee, Iroquoi of Louisville or a lower tier Lexington schools. JC shouldn't have any problems with them.

What's the enrollment of the 2 big private schools in Louisville? LexCath has a total of male/ female of 800 and lets say half are male students. Cov Cath has an enrollment of all boys, around 500-600 maybe. Christian Academy of Lou, Lex Christian, DeSale, New Cath are 2A which means they have less male enrollment. and of course their sister schools which has less than the normal public school enrollment. I can't speak for Louisville public, but in Lexington, school like Henry Clay has total enrollment of 2,500, Dunbar 2,300 Lafeyette 2,000 Creek and Station around 1,800.
