This is the first district game for both teams and will be at Mercer County. The Titans are 1-4 with their only win coming against West Jessamine. The Knights are 2-3 and coming off a solid offensive performance but a less than lackluster defensive effort against Madison Central.

 

If you look only at offensive stats the Knighs should have the edge. Through 4 games the Titans averaged only 250 yards per game to the Knights 400 yards. But look at the other side. The Titans have held teams to about 225 yards per game while the Knights struggling defense has allowed over 325 yards per game. And the Titans defense has 5 interceptions compared to only one for the Knights.

 

Can the Titan defense contain the Knights attack and give its offense a chance against a Knight defense that has struggled? Does the Knight defense improve so that the offense does not have score over 40 to win?

 

Who wins and why?

LexCath wins, they should have enough offense to take this one. I think they'll get some of their guys back from injury this week.

Not convinced with the defense. I left after the 3rd quarter last night watching that. But the offense will save them.

Watched the Anderson Co./Mercer Co. game from start to finish. Lex Cath takes this one 42-0.

We thought Lexington Catholic had a bunch of injured players. From what I have seen and heard, Mercer Co is just plague with season ending or long term injuries on their roster. Lex Cath with enough offense 49-14.

They have, lost quite a few more from the Anderson game. I suspect they will have a lot of jv players starting on friday. Catholic wins this one.
