Huge win for the Generals last night, congrats guys! With that in mind, was Lafayette's win over Lexington Catholic their State Championship?

There is the whole public private thing, the old boycott, Lafayette struggling in the past, and now this big win over the Knights. So I ask again, was Lafayette's win over Lexington Catholic their State Championship?

If it is then they are underselling their capabilities.

The Generals have played the defending 6A champions to a less-than-one-score shorted game (and they had the ball when it was called), beat a usually perennially strong Central team in Louisville and now have their first victory over the Knights.

They have a very good quarterback in Walker Wood. They have a great receiver and a D-1 lineman anchoring their line. Offensively they have the tools for sure.

While I am sure they are giddy with the come-from-behind win with only 2 minutes left Friday they should be looking for a rare district and even rarer region championship this year with this team. They can do it.

No way anybody should be too thrilled to beat Lex Cath this season

All great points but you have to admit it was a huge huge win for the Generals!

Good job guys.

I don't know enough about the program. However, a very strong 6A Lexington school is good for football.

No question about it, I would love to see the large Lexington schools reach close to their potential.

YES! According to the local news in Lexington, they are the BEST team in the city. A city with somewhat a down season with the exception of perhaps Henry Clay. With Simon Kenton, Conner, a tough Campbell Co and of course Scott Co. It will be tough for the Genrals to advance deep in the playoffs.

I'd argue that Station is on the up swing, most years they would get rocked by X and Highlands instead of the very tight losses this season. I know nothing of Dunbar but I'll find out some based on their game with Madison Southern tonight. There could end up being 4 pretty good Lexington public schools this season, something that hasn't happened in a while.

Or perhaps Saint X and FT HIghlands are slighty down this season and thats why teams will be able to keep it a close score. Will see
