It's going to Cov Cath's second "Colonels versus Colonels" matchup of the season when 6A Henderson County travels up to Park Hills this Saturday for a rematch against 4A Cov Cath. This will be the second time these teams have ever faced each other on the field, and both teams will be coming into the game with 2-1 records on the season. After losing their opener at home against FJ Reitz out of Indiana, Hendo has victories over Evansville North (IN) and 5A Christian County. Cov Cath has wins over 6A Boone County and 6A Dixie Heights, and took one on the chin last week in a 39-0 loss to Ohio Division 1 powerhouse and the defending 2012 and 2013 state champs, Archbishop Moeller.

Last year an ailing and injured Cov Cath team made the drive down to Henderson and pulled out what some considered to be an upset, shutting out Henderson County 18-0. This year, Cov Cath brings a high-powered offense to the table, and a developing defensive squad. Henderson will be coming to play, bringing their offensive "Carter Firm" - senior quarterback Richard Carter, his favorite receiver Kobe Carter, and running back Damion Carter.

Who wins this one, and why?

Cov cath wins because they have more weapons and players. Henderson again should play tough in first half then run out of gas. Henderson plays maybe 18 or 19 kids. I see first half score cov cath up 14-7 final 28-7. Hope henderson can give cov cath a good game to get them ready for ft.highlands.

My prediction is two words:

Small

Crowd

hope your right so Henderson doesn't haven't to face a crazy crowd after they get up at 630 and make the long drive.

CCH by 4 tds. Just way to many weapons to keep the blueboys down. They will be 3-1 after this week with a bye heading into the big one.

I saw Henderson play Ryle several years ago in 6A semi-final. Every time they lined up to punt, they would put a running back on each side of the punter, then do a Rugby kick or fake the punt. I don't remember being too effective. Does anybody know if they still do this formation?

That's long gone. That year they just didn't have a punter. The guy they have now is Ave around 40 yards a punt. And the back up who punting the last game ave 38.

Actually they only had two guys back, both were running backs. They also don't think they did that until late in the year. That was Duffer's last year as the head coach.

This year their punter is the same kid that is their place kicker. One of the best kickers and soccer players in the state.

This will also be Henderson's second Colonel versus Colonel match up as Christian Co is also the Colonels.

As far as the game I expect it to go about like turtle said. Keep in close early then Cov pulls away. 35-7 or something like that for the final. Henderson just doesn't have the numbers for a trip this far and to go against a team that does have numbers like Cov Cath.

You got that right Henderson has 48 on roster and that's with two guys that are out. Cov cath has at least 70!!!

Prediction? PAIN

I don't know if "PAIN" is exactly what I'll predict here, although I will definitely predict a Cov Cath win. However, I have thoroughly enjoyed using that video clip two or three times in prediction threads at just the right moment. :lol2:
