You hit it on the head. Lexington public schools are very inconsistent. From head coaching changes to programs. Every now and then you would see a Lafayette and/ or Henry Clay go deep in the playoffs. Not sure why that is. I guess kids/ athletes would much rather play or do something that doesn't involved an authority figure yelling or giving them instructions.

No Moeller in the state of Kentucky period. From Class 1A to 6A, NO ONE!

It seems like every year that Lafayette plays LexCath, they have the horses/ athletes to grind out a victory... but seems to come up short every time. So who's to say they will win this year with the athletes that they have? This game will be closer than previous years. It could go either way 28-21. Either Lafayette or LexCath wins..

Yeah! Manual skill players are GREAT. I named the BIG UGLYS/ Lineman and Manual does not have great footwork on the line. Also your telling us that Jalen Jones or Chase Bowling can't start for Manual? They must have some SEC/ BIG 10 players. If so then how come they couldn't stop the Scott Co train?

Regardless of Louisville pulling out, Ryan will still have a D1A and/ or D1AA ( FCS ) offers. Cam Bailey, Dominic Castlen, Chase Bowling just to name a few. Oh by the way, when we say D1 we also meant D1 and former D1AA ( FCS ) which has offers some of the senior class.

I guess you haven't seen or heard of Cody Mitchell, Dominic Castlen, Cam Bailey, Jalen Jones, Chase Bowling just to name a few. I believe your prejudice towards private ( Catholic or Christian ) school is showing. Perhaps you would think T. Chester and W. Johnson are or were good enough to play for Manual...Right? SMH bro!

Folks, don't let LEX be our spoke person as a Lex Cath fans. Believe me we are not all like him/ her. Bottom line is that Lex Cath fans are excited to play BG this weekend and a challenge to really see how this year Knights version of fast phase tempo. BG is always going to be BG. They are not 3X state champ for no reason. We welcome a great night of football and don't get me wrong, I would like to see Knights snap the game streak at 45... but if not I would love to see a very competitive game.

Scott County by a lot. They let off the gas pedal vs Lafeyette and almost bit their behind.

I'm a local fan, so I'll go with Lex Cath 28-24.... but for Mercer Co fans to say they were not impress with BG! Were they serious? Once BG figured it out, they pounded Mercer to submission... Didn't they? Mercer Co. looks very small and only my opinion, did not look like they are a contender in their own district.

Maybe no as much of a factor in the 4A mix. Will definitely be a lower tier contender, just because with all the backfield being gone/ graduated and the transferred of Belcher is a major lost. Highlands will always be Highlands, Lex Catholic has always been a top contender regardless who the head coach, Boyle County is always a top contender and now with the addition of the LEGENDARY coach Smith back and Covington Cath returns MAJORITY of their starters from last season. The following season though, when these young man a more experience and the above mention teams moves on, Johnson Cent will dominate 4A.

And that's what I have been saying all a long on this blog. Sure Lex Cath will miss Sam Letton and David Bouiver...... but there are more option this season than ever since I have been following the Knights program. Morris, Ogbugo, Thompson Twins, J Jones and some handful of 1st year varsity ie. O'neil, Fagot twins, Pedroche, Bennington, The little RB, sorry I cannot pronounce his name. Linemen likes Carpenter, Langford, Turiby... All by the way are underclassmen. My point was they have MORE option to go to. I was never worried about their offense. Defense showed me/ us a lot in the scrimmage. Good Luck Knights

Gosh I watched the scrimmage game vs. Louisville Ballard and I was sooooooo impress with LexCath defense. Though small across the line, LB and defensive backs were flying to the ball. Bunch of ball hawking players.

That is a big blow to the team, but from what I have seen during summer practices and inter- squad scrimmage... There will be a few underclassmen that will be a factor in the season. Juniors like Jones, Rowady, Thompson twins, Morris, Ogbogu, Hickey and Sophomores like Foster, Bennington, Pedroche, Balcirak, Fagot twins. Majority had varsity experience and were productive last season. They have a roster that will compete again.

Top 5 looks like on point.

uk#1fan has this hatred for FTH and Cov Cath. Can't seem to take that those 2 program are superior/ dominant in the NKY area year in and year out. Consistent winners, even with lost in the finals by FTH. Oh well back to the 4A topic.

Looks like a lot of returners. Hope they say healthy and I'm sure they will be in the one of the top contenders again.

Has Simon Kenton won anything for him to be popping off? Last time we all checked 6A has been dominated/ heard of by Trinity, Saint X, Heck Male has/ had their changes, Scott Co. got over the hump and I will even throw in Lex Henry Clay.

To put this to rest on my behalf... This season 4A belongs to ( One of the top 5 ) teams mentioned. Why? Cause they have a tradition of winning, tradition of multiple state championships, and the most important one... they have an excellent youth and feeder program, so by the time they make it into middle school and school. They are all prepped. K thank you. Well you can argue that Johnson Central has won 2 straight state middle school title, I cant answer why they haven't come close to a title lately.

What? Yes we all know its a ranking for the upcoming season. My point is who and what programs are in that ranking year in and year out? The same as those top 5. Last 10-12 season, who other than those mention in the top 5 have won 4A title, with the exception of Martha Layne?
