I'm not sure what to think of Logan County after their two scrimmages, but I know this much, if Hart County doesn't win the game, then I don't see a scenario where they compete for a district title. And I know it's only week one, but Glasgow is going to re-emerge this year in a way that may be too much for the Raiders to continue their streak. We will see how it goes! I know Chad Griffin is a great coach, but you still have to have the Jimmys and Joes.

Male is going to be a tough out for anyone this year even with their talented RB going down. Athletes everywhere and are deep at most positions. They also have quality line play to compliment it. Came away impressed with them this past Friday in BG.

Happy for a new season with a lot to unpack and figure out! I think this match up will provide some quality experience for both sides. OC is clearly swinging above their weight class, but you would be a fool to think they aren't going to try and come in much like LCA did a couple years ago and leave it all out there against the Purples. Catholic is not your typical 2A team, has D1 talent and to not take them seriously would be a mistake. As for me personally, obviously the most important thing is winning the game, but I would be naive to ignore that we have some offensive woes to address and kinks to figure out. Establishing the run game is priority number one for me, that alone sets up Strautman for success in the present and future. Number two would be seeing another perimeter threat, other than Barber, step up for this group and add meaningful contributions. The game plan for opponents is clearly going to be to take Travey away. I realize that is easier said than done, but when you play teams with great coaching and quality athletes that can match up it can become difficult when you're solely relying on one individual in the passing game. Defensively, I love the aggressiveness shown in the scrimmage against Male, but the discipline displayed (or lack thereof) needs to be a full stop. Three roughing the passer calls, numerous DPIs, etc. really hurt this group. Extending drives to great opponents, especially with free gifts like that, will always come back to bite you in the rear. As far as a prediction, I'll take the Purps in a 28-7 type game. I don't expect it to be clean and there will likely be some adversity. I hope that is the case truthfully. The way this schedule sets up, the more tests the better. I'm pumped for kickoff! Go Purples!

Male up 7-0 after 1. Both defenses look solid but BG has had some silly penalties. Male looks more complete thus far IMO. Both teams have a couple of turnovers so it hasn’t been pretty. But I guess that is what scrimmages are for (or something like that)

Pretty quality scrimmage in my eyes. Owensboro has a nice crop of athletes and SW’s physicality is apparent.

I look forward to the BG/SC match up. The game being so early in the year along with a more than handful of new faces being plugged in for BG has to favor Scott Co is some capacity, especially it being at home. I think the Purples will be fine but I expect their work to be cut out for them.

Is there a reason Ty Ashley would not be the QB? If this isn't a talented OHS squad they will never be talented. They have 2 players with multiple power 4 offers. Nobody on their schedule will have that kind of talent.

LCA rushing more than passing Boley's senior year was more of a reflection of where the talent on the team was. Average WR's but had a stud RB. I believe the evidence is there that coaching of QB's and offensive scheme leans heavily to Lex Cath, Sayre, and LCA over Douglas.

If you are a transfer QB, Douglas is not the destination in Lexington. They have never produced/developed quarterbacks. Lex Cath, LCA, or as you mentioned, Sayre would be the place to go.

You would have to ask Tiger fans, but since the turn of 2000, the series with Bowling Green is a dead lock 8-8. They have played every year since 2011. It is very competitive, and I look forward to the game yearly.

Believe that to be correct. With FS leaving it opens it up more so than previous years. Really just leaves the Hart Co game as the decider. I think Hart will be pulling back to the pack so to speak this year. Glasgow is usually more talented than HC anyways but getting outcoached was a real issue the last few years. If Hart wins their fifth in a row over the Scotties, I would just be simply stunned. Just my opinion though. Admittedly, I don't know what Adair is supposed to be like this year so maybe they will have something to say but, on the surface, I think Glasgow winning the district and potentially reaching a regional final is realistic feat.

I actually think that this schedule sets up pretty well for Glasgow. I believe there's no real reason that they shouldn't be around 7-3 or better. I do wonder how the line play will progress through the year like most of you. I also think that Arnett gets the Hart Co monkey off their back this year which will allow them to win a district title for the first time in a bit.

Isable going to East is a good development in the fact that there is at the very least capable of slinging it around and mobile enough to occasionally turn nothing in to something. However, that in it of itself isn't enough for me to be too optimistic on the Raiders this year. I agree with @TheBallCoach and think 5-5 would be the ceiling for this season. Just too much production to replace and new faces to trust against that kind of schedule. I think putting the big Hardin Co schools on the schedule will prove to be a rough challenge just taking it at surface level. I think Coach Hall & the Raiders will have their work cut out for them this year. It will be his toughest coaching job to date. Lumps will be taken but hopefully some growth can be established as overall this is a semi young team.

I’m also curious as to the why. I think Coach Clark is great at what he does and has a nice track record. He’s seen it all.. he’s had and seen below average, average, and great teams and I always thought he got the most out of them. I’m happy for him and wish him great success. Good luck, Coach!

Sooner or later, I'll learn to simply trust and fall in line with your thinking when it comes to the round ball. I'll keep my occasional back and forth with you saved for pigskin season. ?

Moreno has a lot to do with that obviously, without that height I'd venture to say they'd be attacking the basket a bit more. Not that I disagree with what you're saying though, Montgomery Co would be the ideal situation for BG.
