2025 Scott County Cardinals

Featured Replies

Timothy Emongo is the main remnant of the powerful rushing attach of the 2024 Cardinals as they head into 2025. Andrew Hickey and Buddy Collins are gone as are other integral pieces to the rush such as Ali Hamidayah and Kayne Garrett.
Scott County was wildly inconsistent last year. Can they rebuild their offense yet again? Can they find consistency on both sides of the ball? Can they compete inside their class and make a post-season run? Big questions to be answered.

We only saw a healthy Buddy Collins for maybe 2 games last year. The offense was good without him, but amazing with him. The team is returning Timmy emongo, Anderson Owens(who I suspect will replace York at TE) little Garrett, and is adding P5 prospect JuJu Harmon from western hills.

On top of that the frosh team they had last year was the best in KY. A couple of those boys will be playing varsity football at a similar level that the 25 frosh class did in 2022 on a team that was a top 5 team in the state.

Scott county plays Bowling green early in the season and I believe highlands as well. We’ll see what this team is made of early but I suspect they’ll be better this year assuming injures don’t plague them again.

Most if not all of their guys have in school weights. Facilities are excellent, as is the coaching.

Their Wing- T offense is excellent. Add in the continuity, very difficult to defend.

South Oldham's original schedule had a game against Corbin for Week 11, and that apparently didn't work out. So I'm wondering if we see Scott County playing Corbin on Oct 31.

There's still a district game against Woodford County to get on the schedule, presumably on Oct 17th at Woodford. South Oldham's original schedule had a game against Corbin for Week 11, and that apparently didn't work out. So I'm wondering if we see Scott County playing Corbin on Oct 31.

GRC game confirmed. Expect to see a bye week to close season, with Wofo being their 9th game. Week 4-5 are interesting. Wouldn’t be suprised to see the cards go with an out of state option in one of, or both of those weeks. If they go in state it’s looking more like opposition they won’t struggle with.

That freshman team split with another freshman team in the season, so calling them the best freshman team in KY is a bold statement.

Both teams gave each other their only loss on the season. Boyle county frosh and Scott county frosh were the best 2 teams last season.

I see 7-9 wins with the squad they’ll have next year.

I'd feel comfortable with 7, maybe 8. Off the rip they aren't beating Highlands or BG. Should be a good year for the Cardinals!

Little premature to lock in those losses wouldn’t you say? BG game is at home and we have won our share of games at Highlands. I look for the Cards to have a strong chance in every game on this schedule.

Scott county has owned highlands the last 6 or 7 matchups. The last time Scott county and highlands played, it wasn’t the fancy plays that beat highlands. It was the belly plays with their fullback that killed highlands. If they can’t contain the base plays of that Scott county wing T, they will not win.

Scott county like usual, will boast an electric offense led by rising prospect Timmy emongo. Returning star JuJu Harmon will be leading that Scott county defense, with elite sophomores JJ rhoades(OT) and the strongest Frosh in Kentucky last season, Lucas fint(NT) beginning their varsity careers on a stacked team.

I expect highlands and Scott county to play a great game. Never count out either squad!

As for the BG game all I’ll say is that they play a great half of varsity football in the scrimmages they’ve played in recent years. Scott county has generally “won”, but we’ll see what changes when the games matter!
