Great team effort for the Birds!!! Top notch coaching and playing and executing small ball when they had to. Getting those bunts down were huge along with getting the third out when MC had the bases loaded. Thanks Teddy for the great play by play, it was awesome.

SK have any of those hanging around that aren't being used? It will be interesting to watch CCH this year. Brutal schedule for sure.

Your not giving CCH enough credit. Highlands is a tough "out" when it comes to playoffs. Many,many years CCH would have won state, if it wasn't for Highlands.

IMO SK is not a top NKY team. The jury is still out, but I would need to see a BIG improvement. The better question is what will it take to earn the respect of other NKY elite programs? If it were a perfect world, and IF SK would defeat the Birds, and IF the blind squirrel found that nut, and IF hell freezes over, would that be enough to garner the respect of the other NKY teams? Being on the Birds schedule is just not enough, and even if they beat the Birds, one win wouldn't be enough to change the minds of the NKY folks. JMO.

They do the same thing every time they stumble. They get up, dust themselves off, and continue to work harder to achieve their goal. What would you expect them to do?

Ask any Highlands player(or fan) " what is your goal for this season?" They will say "beat Cov-Cath and win a state title." Yea, it is still a rivalry. (Been saying this for decades.) Not concerned at all. Several years ago there were six players trying to get the starting QB job. Lots of talent at the QB spot for the Birds.

I believe this is a great question because it doesn't have the "R" implication that most of the questions of this type have. If he doesn't want to play for Beechwood, it's ok, both schools are awesome in all aspects. One thing for sure, both schools will give him a great education. :thumb:

Are you saying that Hergott is a lock as the number 1 QB for the Birds? If not who else would be in the mix at QB? Anyone?

I think Scott Draud played basketball at HHS. If he did play football, he was not a starter. Derek Smith lived in Silver Grove, the Silver Grove Big Trains do not have a football program.
