At beginning of season I predicted Bowling Green would have 9 running clocks in regular season. A few didnt like my boldness. Again, its only a guess. I may or may not be right. It would be an interesting study to see how many running clocks a team has had in previous years. I think there is a chance BG gets 14 out of 15 running clocks this season. If not, it will be very close.

Only thing that really counts in high school football it's the district, region, state and bragging rights. Polls really did not mean anything. In the next 14 days Bowling Green will drop in the polls due to their competition. Wishing BG played Trinity this year.

BG skill players play in first quarter and then coaching staff start playing roulette, shifting young kids around seeing what they got. Purples are so good. Future looks beyond bright.

People on this board raked Purple88 over the coals when he hinted to the fact that Payne could push the envelope on being BGs best. He may or may not be the best but no one can argue that Clark Payne is the most accurate passer BG has seen. Accuracy and very few mental mistakes along with a great team will always equal success.

In addition to Clark Paynes 415 yards .... He was 24-27 with 4 TDs Broke the BG school record for most yards in a game Breaking news... he's good. Really good.

None of the top tier programs are going to fear either of these teams, atleast this year. Anyone going to score 50+ on any of the big boys? Anyone going to allow 70? Its almost comical. Both of these teams will get beat by running clock in the playoffs

Central fans. If BG were to get a running clock, Coach Wallace pulls the starters. However, when the subs come in they give it their all, which we all agree that they should. They will continue to try to move the ball on the ground or in the air. They may or may not get the clock but we all agree that HS football is about as good as it gets.

Vito does not play JV Again, its just JV. Cant really determine next year varsity on this year JV but knew a handful of you would want to know

Final. Purples JV make statement against future rival in South Warren. JV is JV but 42 - 0 is 42 - 0. IMO, BG lays the wood next season

Small correction. Vito has 3 TDs (only 4 touches). A junior can not win Mr Football, only seniors. I am sure Reese is a great player as well. Not sure if he attended the Middle School Army all-american game but Vito was invited both his 7th and 8th grade year, finished 2nd in voting his 8th grade year as best player. Time will tell, its a little early but in the next year or two when they are both the featured players for their teams, I think it will be obvious of which kid stands out the most

As mentioned earlier, Vito not getting many touches this year because of Mr Caruthers. He has touched the ball 4 times in the first 5 games vs John Hardin 1 rush for 34 yards vs Owensboro INT 40 yard TD vs Warren Central Kickoff return 89 yd TD Warren Central 1 rush 64 yards TD 3 TDs in 4 touches. He aint done!

Have not read through all the posts from this topic but just be reminded that Jamale Caruthers from Bowling Green over the next 4 weeks should only play in 1/2 the game each Friday night. HOWEVER, in one half of action each of the next few Friday nights, he should probably average 200 yards and 3 or 4 TDs. At minimum I think he gets 700 yards and 10 TDs in the next 4 games. If the coaches would let him (I respect them not doing this). He could get 700 and 10 TDs the next 2 games - crazy

Vito gets his first offer from Austin Peay University. Great honor for the freshman. Everyone knows this will not be only offer but many yet to come. Bluegrass Prepsters know I have tooted this kids horn for 3 years now. Quite frankly, I think he has potential to be not only the Purples best player to come through but best player in all of Warren County to ever come through. My reasoning: No 6th grader or 7th grader that I know of has ever been the star player on the 8th grade team. Think about it. Lots of good talent in Purple land and for 3 years in a row he was on the 8th grade team and was best player on the team. All 3 years! 2 time middle school allstar in San Antonio Army game. As 8th grader was named to top 5 all american middle school players, finishing 2nd in voting. 2nd of all middle school football players! First frosh to start at BG in long time. Here is the question that has many people in BG interested in. What do you do with Vito next season? As a freshman this year he is playing defensive back. Even with Justice Dingle (Jr that has SEC offers) Vito is still shining. No one hits harder than this kid. Chances are in college he is used on Defense. HOWEVER, He is unstoppable as a running back. No way he runs ball this season (he would be 1,000 yard rusher right now). As an 8th grader rushed for nearly 2,100 yards (2,100!). He ran for 20.7 yards a carry! The reason he doesnt get the rock is because of Mr. Caruthers has already paid his dues and should secure scoring record for BG this season (and hopefully, Mr football). I respect Coach Wallace for this. So, where does he play next season. I guess it really doesnt matter. He will be best player on either side of ball. Im a little old school. Put the ball in the hands of your best playmaker. That would be Vito All that to say, congrats young man. Keep your nose clean and your grades up. Before his Jr season is complete I believe he will have multiple offers from all big boy schools. I know he is lights out on Defense but you gotta give him the rock next season!

Feeder programs (a plus), Good coaching staff (a plus), Good administration (a plus), good alumnus (a plus), $ in quarterback club (a plus), really good players (a MUST). Purples are blessed with all of the above but never forget it doesn't hurt to have kids like your Caruthers or Fants walking though the locker rooms. If you don't have the horses, Bear Bryant couldn't help you. People slam these 7on7 tourneys but if you saw the teams that were represented and the athletes they have brought with them, you quickly realize that coaching, support and the likes are of great value but to have quality athletes getting churned out of your program certainly doesn't hurt matters. Coaches would agree. Don't get me wrong - a great coaching staff can make a good team a much better team. That's what makes the BG's, Trinity's and the likes hard to stop. They have a healthy balance of coaching, support, $ but most of all the horses!

Anything can happen on a Friday night but to be fairly blunt and frank, the Purples will be a machine for 3 more seasons after this season. I think right now Purples are 73-3. Good chance they get to 125 wins before they lose 5 more. Again, just prediction on my part but if not 125 wins (52 more Wins out of next 57 games) it will be pretty dern close. Crazy to think about but it could happen
