  1. Depends on your location.. States like KY, NC and several others college basketball rules, the state of Florida did a sports survey and college basketball was not in the top 5 as favorite sports. To me I'm a football guy but have to admit that nothing touches college basketball in March. Until college football has a 12/16 team tournament it second as a viewing sport. NBA is boring to me until the playoffs then it does heat up.
  2. That's the way we always teach it on the snap in the box of course. He was saying their having a hard time judging it and was going to eliminate any cut blocks out of the gun. We cut a lot on the backside and some on our quick series. Anyways guess I have to wait and see.
  3. Does anybody know about a new rule this season that cut blocks were going to be illegal out of shotgun? Had a conversation with a ref and he was telling me that it will go into effect this year.
  4. Jones had 18 against the cats last time they played. All eyes will be on Louisville's big 3. Jones will have open jumpers all night if he and Rosier can knock em down they will have a good shot at wining.
  5. Louisville 79 Kentucky 71 Chris Jones will play big!!
  6. Well I thought the Tigers would win this one but the better team did win. Hoptown got killed on the boards which cost them dearly.
  7. If Hoptown can make their free-throws they will win it all. Very well coached and are the most athletic team in the sweet 16.
  8. Matlock is a very good high school player but his lack of an outside jumper makes him just that. They been thinking his a D1 player since his freshmen year but his undersize to play at a big time college. Not to many 6-4 forwards in D1 ball.
  9. I don't see them going back to the veer offense Wallace has fallen in love with throwing it around.
  10. I don't know guys I agree it was UHA job to stop em from scoring and holding on to the lead but man that was a bad call. When your a underdog like UHA getting the low end of the stick like that has to be a hard pill to swallow. The ref who called the block had to best view and was a foot away from the play. He should of held his ground and stuck to his guns!
  11. Christian County Jamarious Taylor (chicken)- Brother was Emanuel Taylor Hoptown's all-time leading rusher. Rushed for around 1,400 yards last season with 2 Ints for TD's Keyron Catlet- Started as a Freshmen and lead the team with 900 yards receiving including schools record 92 yard TD reception in the first round playoff's.
  12. Hickey would have gone to either UofL or KY if they would have offered. He would have been fine being a backup point for a couple of years. Louisville did show some interest but it never came about. I think both now wish they would have offered him even though Louisville is good at the PG position for years to come. Now to me knowing him for a long time I've said this many times.. He would have been a great DB in the SEC and would have a had a better chance making the NFL than the NBA but the kids just loves basketball.
  13. Also sad to hear about coach Patterson passing away last night. Coach was a legend and always had his team ready to play. KY High School football lost one of its true colorful characters.
  14. Bad call I agree but who knows PT could have blocked the punt or got great field position to set up a TD. Being that the call was in the 2nd quarter SW had plenty of time to make it up and change the outcome. One thing is for sure SW defense was something to see. They really get after you as did PT. Great game to watch and it is a shame that PT don't have more support.
  15. It has been a struggle with the Colonels this season. Injuries and more injuries to a young team has been hard to get threw. Seems like every week there's 5/6 kids who have some type injury to keep them out. Concussions being one of the nagging problems as I'm sure its the same with many other teams across the state. Mix that in with playing a tuff schedule has resulted in first losing season since 2001. There has been a few bright spots, beating Hillsboro who just beat defending 5A Tenn. champion beech this past weekend was by far the best win to date. The Fulton team out of Knoxville might have been the best team the Colonels have faced in recent memory. Colonels did put manage to put up 28 points on the board and force them to punt twice during the game. Don't laugh they only punted once before playing the Colonels have not punted or scored up on since then. BG to me is better than they were last year. Defense has not miss a beat since loosing their DC to Boone and their offensive is even more explosive than last season. QB runs the show like he's playing 7 on 7. Fant and their running back are STUDS. BG's O-line might be the best coached line in the state. Very sound and get after you. Coach Lovelace will have the Colonels ready to play. He's a great motivator and will have the kids play hard and that's all you can ask for. No prediction here just hope the Colonels can give the purples a good game.
  16. Should be a very good game. WC seems to peeking at the right time and scratching my head how Greenwood score so many points against Graves last Friday. Graves is very good offensively with a tuff tailback who can stick his foot and go up field in a hurry. QB is solid, throws are accurate but does take some time for him to get it off. WC by 10
  17. If Caldwell can control Mayfield's #4 they could win this game. Don't kick to him and double cover him he's their difference maker. Even match-up but it's just seem like Mayfield always rise to their opponents level and steals a win.
