  1. 1. Jerry Reese NG. Was the anchor for CCHS 1982 4A title run. Dominated most games he played for the Colonels. Had a stand out performance against Dermontti Dawson in the state's semis with 3 sacks and picked up a fumble for 65 TD. 3 year starter at UK, played 6 years with the steelers. 2. Mack Majors RB. Started for the 1982&1984 4A Title teams. Only school outside Louisville to do so. Not one of the the most talented players to play for the Colonels but was one of the most effective players in the schools history. Made a living running trap and outside veer to perfection. Smart hard runner who was the schools all time leading rusher when he finished his career. 3. Keith Tandy QB, DB. Broke all the school records for QB's. A duel treat with his arm and his legs. Great leader and a class act. 3 year starter for West Virginia and lead the team with INT's for 2 years. Currently playing for Tampa Bay. Honorable Mention: Tony Mcombs LB- 2 time All-American for EKU. Played 3 years in the NFL before a freak injury ended his career. Rod Smith RB - Over shadowed by Majors in the early 80's but rushed for 1,000 3 years in a roll. Maybe the fastest player to ever played for the Colonels. Bubba Tandy WR, RB DB- One of the most talented players in school history. Could play any position. Once return 4 punt returns for TD's and a fifth called back in one game. Anthony Hicky Qb- Crazy quick feet with a good arm. Currently starting PG for LSU and lead the nation with steals.
  2. Should be a very interesting year for the colonels. Last year the season ended lossing in the 2nd round to BG in a hard fought game and had their chances to pull off the upset but the purples were just a better team in the end. On defense the colonels return 8 starters back lead by JR safety 6'4 195lbs Devon Wharton. Wharton is Christian's best D1 prospect since Hickey and Tandy. He has the size and speed that has draw recent interest for several big schools. Look for the Colenels to be more of an attacking defense than in the past couple of years. Offensely is where the Colonels have to regroup. Last season they averaged around 45 pts a game and were a experience unit. Gone are all the skill kids from that squad. The good news is the entire Oline is back. Most of em have stated since their Sophmore years. They will be bigger and more athletic than in the past several years. Finding skill kids at Christian has never been to much of a problem they have several young backs/wr's that should fill the void. The big question mark will be the qb position. Last season Freshmen QB Dixon Craft did start on the road aganist Southwestern P and came out with a win in the finial regular season game so he does have some experience but way to early to say who will be the starting QB I look for the Colonels to be more physical this upcoming season. They have had a good offseason in the weight room and should have a chip on their shoulder getting knock off twice in the 2nd round the last couple of seasons to WC and BG. Coach Lovelace has done a good job of beefing up the schedule to get his team ready.
  3. Been watching Fant since he was a freshmen. Can he play at the next level? Yes. Reminds me of Deion Branch who played for Louisville. Like Branch does not have great top end speed but is quicker than a hiccup. As one poster mention makes everything look easy. Catches the ball with hands and run good routes. One of his best catches was in the semis against John Hardin. BG just made the miracle play for a score and decide to go for 2 and the win. BG lines up and I knew that they were going to Fant on a out based on his alignment. John Hardin corner was in perfect position playing 3 yards on his outside shoulder and should be able to make a play on it. Fant was still able to attack his outside shoulder broke his route off a little early and made what look like a routine catch in the clutch. Now it was a even better throw from the QB but it was a typically play for Fant.
  4. Wow great hire for Boone. Did not believe it when I first heard that he might be their new coach. Always thought he would be the next HC at BG when Wallace retired. Wallace runs BG's offense Grifth has ran their 3-4 50 defense over the years. I will say this, he makes the best halftime adjustments than any coach I've went up against. He's kind of old school coach who Players don't mind getting fussed at. You won't outflank him specially to the wide-side. Again best hire I've seen in several years think Boone hit a home-run!
  5. I expect Chad to stay on the defensive side and his dad Mike Lewis will run the offense. I'm sure Chad will still want to run the wing-t since they have been so successful over the years.
  6. It's my understanding that you can submit any dates for that window this spring. I like this.. Don't have to worry about how early our boys/girls basketball teams get put out, should be able to have spring practice in decent weather. I think we are going to try to have spring practice as close as we can to the end of the school year.
